Dorina Stanciu (cinderelle) | 9 comments Georgina, this is because we discussed Rasputin yesterday. I like the song.

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

I'll admit that I have a bit of a thing for Rasputin, as strange as it may sound. It's that mystic/hedonist mix. And I love that Boney M song! So 70's or was it early 80's?

I found a longer version with them performing.

A very young Nick Cave when he was with Boys Next Door (after The Birthday Party).

Everyone has to know this song. It's a classic through and through.

message 26: by Dorina (new)

Dorina Stanciu (cinderelle) | 9 comments I love "Enigma". One of the reasons is because the "soul" of the band is Romanian.I think their music is very...mysterious.I found one of Michael Cretu's songs that I really love! It's called "Moonlight Flower":

message 29: by Fauuzzie (last edited Jun 14, 2012 12:30AM) (new)

Fauuzzie (faize) If I posted a list of all my favorite bands, Goodreads would sue me for making their site go down with info overload.

So I will, very...painstakingly, narrow it down to an approximate Top 1 Billion Favorite Artists. JK:)

Yoav, Emiliana Torrini, Underoath, Skillet, Evanescence (mostly their earlier stuff), Weird Al, The Moon and the Nightspirit, Azam Ali, Linkin Park, Muse, Uaral, Empyrium, Myriads, Sent by Ravens, Bjork, Alice Cooper, The Beatles, Anna Blue/Damien Dawn (suffering from the massive lack of material), Collective Soul, Switchfoot, ELO, Beethoven, Ecstatic Fear, Unsun, In This Moment, Tarja Turunen, AC/DC, Train, Corde Oblique, R.E.M., Dead Can Dance, John Legend, Guster, Angus and Julia Stone, Ludo, Death Cab for Cutie, Blackmore's Night, Gothica, Kaki King, The All-American Rejects, Jimmy Eat World, Coldplay, Flyleaf, Chalice, Two Steps from Hell, Sirenia, Utada Hikaru, Agalloch...

Holy crap, I'm such a music nerd. It would have been a lot easier to just say "I listen to everything"...

message 30: by Nenia (new)

Nenia Campbell (neniacampbell) I'm not a huge fan of Gothic music anymore but I used to be! (Now I'm a fan of Radio Disney lol) Here are some of the artists I used to listen to, though, as I see that a lot of you like my old faves:

Symphonic/Melodic Metal:
Nightwish, Tristania, Epica, Sirenia, Lacuna Coil, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Edenbridge (amazing instrumentals! metal music can be HAPPY music!), Xandria, Kamelot(LOVE his voice!), Freedom Call

Visual Kei/Japanese Gothic:
Versailles, Moi Dix Mois, Malice Mizer, Vidoll, Buck-Tick, Gackt, Hizaki

Gothic Rock:
Evanescence, Within Temptation, Fireflight, H.I.M., Thrice

New Wave:
The Cure, The Smiths, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Tears for Fears, Echo and the Bunnymen

Creepy Music that Defies Labeling:
