All done with this one. It was pretty good I guess. I mean, I read it pretty fast, although it wasn't one of my favorites of Dean Koontz. Not as much horror as some of his older books, which is pretty much what I expected, but it's still a little disappointing. I think Mr. Koontz may have even been trying to push a little creationism on me, but it wasn't overbearing, so I didn't necessarily mind. But now I'm in the mood for more Koontz, so it's on to THE BAD PLACE next. I have more hope for this one, that it will be closer to the classic Dean Koontz type books!
I have also just read a Dean Koontz book
.I really didn't think too much of it,I usually like his older horror books (Phantoms, midnight) but this is one of his thriller chase ones,I just felt i had read this type of story so many times before or maybe i just need a Koontz break.I hope you enjoy The Bad Place Bloodman,I haven't read it, but i have heard it's one of his best.
I haven't read The Servants of Twilight yet - I've kind of been putting it off since I heard there was a violent part involving a dog in it. I know that may sound dumb, but rough stuff with animals always gets to me. I can watch or read about a hundred people getting their heads chopped off, but if one animal gets mistreated, it really is upsetting to me! I'm not sure what that says about me, but oh well, that's the way I am.
I also really like his older ones, especially Phantoms. It's been a long time, but I remember really loving that book! The Bad Place is pretty good - it started kind of slow in my opinion, but it's getting more interesting as we go along. I would have to say that my favorites of his would be the aforementioned Phantoms, The Face of Fear, Watchers, and The Funhouse. These are more horrorish, which is more up my alley!

Their is a part at the beginning of the book involving a dog,and i so agree about animal cruelty, but i didn't think it was too graphic,i mean thankfully he didn't go into to much detail.and hey we all know how much Dean love's his dogs.I just finished a really good one today Run,it's a really fast paced story and it's also pretty gruesome and creepy.it also reminded me a little of the movie Mad Max which i loved.
Some good ones there Kyle.My faves so far Intensity,Hideaway,Phantoms,Midnight and Watchers. My not so faves,By The Light Of The Moon,Servants of Twilight.I reckon I've only read about a quarter of his books. The man has so many books out.it would take me forever to read them all.I've kind of stayed away from his latest ones due to bad reviews, who knows,I may be missing out.
Hi Kyle, and welcome to the group! I'm glad to see someone else posting stuff (lately, it seems to just be me and William writing back and forth)! I agree with you, Phantoms is one of my favorite Dean Koontz books. I should really read it again sometime since it's been a while.
I agree with William that some of his newer ones didn't seem as good, but then I really liked some as well - I thought VELOCITY and THE GOOD GUY were really good, and they kind of harkened back to the older days of Koontz books. But even the ones that aren't quite as much to my liking, I still find relatively enjoyable.

William, I'm glad to hear you liked RUN. I've been looking at that one for a while now, but haven't gotten around to getting it. I will definitely have to check it out - it sounds pretty cool!

Kyle, that is really cool that Dean would take the time to answer his fans, even after all the books he has sold.As for not reading his newer ones with the exception of his latest one(which i know nothing about) they all seem pretty similar. The most recent one i have read is Velocity and found it just ok.I think from Velocity onwards his reviews get really mixed so with time being so precious and also liking horror more than any other genre I'll stick to his early ones.
