What books did you start to read and just could not put down? I thought this might a good way to reach my goal next year.

The Queen of the Damned I loved this book more than the other of series.

One for the Money I don't have a favorite of this series but I love them all.
Intensity LOVED this one. I read it back when I was in the military and I couldn't put it down.

Lisa P Great new thread Missy...I always love to hear book recommendations from others.

My favorite read from this year was the Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning. Its a five book paranormal series (but not the typical vampire/werewolf stuff). Once I started, I couldn't put down until I finished them all.
Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning Bloodfever (Fever, #2) by Karen Marie Moning Faefever (Fever, #3) by Karen Marie Moning Dreamfever (Fever, #4) by Karen Marie Moning Shadowfever (Fever, #5) by Karen Marie Moning

I also just finished The Devil Colony The Devil Colony (Sigma Force #7) by James Rollins by James Rollins. It is book #7 in the Sigma Force Series. Great series if you like thrillers.

Is the Fever Series okay for a 13 yr old to read? My daughter likes these and I think I will too.

Dar B (ruminatingbulls) | 121 comments The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova was excellent to me and the one from this year that still haunts my thoughts.

Life of Pi by Yann Martel was very interesting with a fantastic ending. I find myself thinking of this one a lot and recommending it to many. Emma could definitely read this one.

I also enjoyed two classics that I had never read before: Dracula and Atlas Shrugged

Missy, The fever series is great, but definitely full of adult content...and some of the books in the series have much more in them than others. I would personally not recommend for a 13 year old...but you might want to read them first and decide for yourself.

Dar B (ruminatingbulls) | 121 comments You're welcom Lisa!!

I also forgot to mention The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley. It is the first in a series about a precocious young girl in 1940's England who has an appetite for chemistry and mystery solving. Loved it and I plan on continuing with this series, myself.

Missy, Emma could definitely read this!
