Lobna I LOVE THE series but now I'm bored it's what more than 20 books and small chapters ... at first I didn't know where to start reading but there's book 0 ,0.1 ,1 ,1.1...... I guess this crazy.
I love greek mythology so these series were supposed to be amazing but there are were-hunters.. which I like by the way but the dream hunters ( i hate it ); it's boring and quite the same. if anyone asked me will u read the rest of the series "I'll say Hell NO ".
I wanted to know ash story and now I know it so I won't read it anymore ....
by the way that book was really good ( the second part ) the first part was .... the definition of abuse ...so I'm sorry not big fan but the other part was really good .

Chantelle This was the last book she wrote that I read I just hate Hardbacks and don't wanna pay extra for them but this book was worth it since I was waiting for Ash's story from the beginning. It was a great book

Danielle I love this series, especially the first 5 or 6 but wasn't too impressed with book. I'd rather keep Ash a mystery. I will keep reading because I want to know more about Savitar and that guy that was chained up(can't remember his name) and I love the Simi. However the books always end similar now and there isn't as much sarcastic humor like there was in the beginning. Maybe it should end. I like her other books written as Kinley Mcgregor.

Kate Ash's book was my favourite. None of the books after his really lived up to that one.

The other newer ones aren't that bad... but they've sort of lost me a little. I'm not as passionate about the series as I was before I read Ash's book.

Lobna so I'm not alone :D ... I also think the writer has a serious problem ...
all males were abused by their families or by someone they love ... physical and mental abuse and torture.. I have to ask what's wrong with her ?? do think the same ... ?or maybe because it's 23 or 24 books , it's too much but i also agree I'm dying to know Savitar and Jedan stories, if she did those I'll read them .

message 6: by Jim (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jim curiously enough most books of Sherrelyn kenyon share the same plot, but is this book what made it worthy. I enjoyed the whole book, cause it reminded me a bit of every character but it also had certain depth beyond the way too used drama of having a tortured hero and a heroine ready to gain his trust. It actually develops, making it exiting and more real.

Kirby this was the first one I ever read, and I loved it- so I was excited to find out there were others, but I maybe semi-enjoyed one or two before they just became too stale to even finish...

AlbertaJenn I miss the old Dark-Hunters. The newer books are getting a tad too confusing for me. I think she is adding too much too fast and not tying up old loose ends before starting something new.

message 9: by Jvo (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jvo I really liked this book it was my favorite i thought it had more of a story than the rest of them. i also liked the dark hunter and were-hunter books but i wasnt too fond of the dream hunter i agree it got kinda boring.

Sharon Ash was my favorite book... I do continue to read them even though they are taking on a similar feel with each one... I just continue to see who the next characters are and what their story is, sort of feel like I've invested this much might as well continue

Dee after the mess that was retribution i think i'm done with the series..or at least won't be buying, will get it from the library

Danielle Dee wrote: "after the mess that was retribution i think i'm done with the series..or at least won't be buying, will get it from the library"

I was told that one wasn't very good. I will be reading Bad Moon Rising within the week and No Mercy after that.

message 13: by Dee (new) - rated it 4 stars

Dee my biggest issue with retribution was that she introduced a whole new cast of characters/mythology and you barely saw the ones that the series was originally based on...it had more of a native american mythology than the greek of the previous ones

message 14: by Kate (new) - rated it 4 stars

Kate Retribution wasn't the best. But I have a copy of the latest in the series... who's name escapes me at the moment. I'll be reading it to see if it can redeem the series after Retribution.

AlbertaJenn Dee wrote: "my biggest issue with retribution was that she introduced a whole new cast of characters/mythology and you barely saw the ones that the series was originally based on...it had more of a native amer..."

I am beginning to feel like it isn't even the same series I love! There is just too much going on. She really needs to slow down and do more development nad exploration of what she has already created.

Lobna i think she needs to stop the dark hunter series and start new series separated from this one
I have to say this by far the longest series ever :S

Kirby anybody know how many books she's got? seems like she cranks 'em out at a ridiculous pace...

message 18: by Dee (new) - rated it 4 stars

Dee i think she needs to stop writing all her other series and just focus on one...at last count she had

Dark-Hunters (including the were's and the dreams)
Lords of Avalon (book 3 indefinently on hold - which pisses me off because i've been waiting on it)
BAD series (apparently on hold, another pissing me off because she set up 2 couples and now we won't know)
Chronicles of Nick
the Belador series (with Diana Hunt)

plus the fact that Nick, were's etc have been picked up for Manga, movies

Danielle Your missing her books as Kinley Mcgregor. If you go to her site, you can see all the different books. She has a ton! Way more than you think. Its crazy:)

message 20: by Dee (new) - rated it 4 stars

Dee oh yeah...and those...i've read some but not all...she kinda lost me on the brotherhood of the sword ones when the last one almost had a DH twist

Danielle That's right, I kinda remember that. I wonder if she is going to try to combine her series?

message 22: by Dee (new) - rated it 4 stars

Dee who knows...lol! i'm reading the most recent BAD one right now, and bad is a good way to describe it...if I wasn't using it for a challenge, I'd probably DNF it

Winifred AlbertaJenn wrote: "I miss the old Dark-Hunters. The newer books are getting a tad too confusing for me. I think she is adding too much too fast and not tying up old loose ends before starting something new."

Yep I agree. And Nick is the worst change she made.

Winifred Kirby wrote: "anybody know how many books she's got? seems like she cranks 'em out at a ridiculous pace..."

Nope, Thats my next question.

message 25: by H.A. (new) - rated it 5 stars

H.A. I actually stopped reading the series after Acheron's story. I liked the second half better than the first. I have read a few since, but I agree that the books aren't the same as they used to be. Maybe she's not as passionate about the series as she was for the first dozen books, as those really stood out for me.
As for every male character being tortured or abused or betrayed, I think in a series like this that is required since in order for them to become hunters their soul has to cry out for revenge. To me the two just go hand in hand but that is only my opinion I guess...

Susana I read two more books after Acheron story, but i didn't like them as i liked the other ones. I was expecting a lot more of "Fang's" history in "Bad Moon Rising" and "No Mercy" seems to have sliped my mind. Dont know if i'll be buying "retribution", the story doesn't seem very interesting. But i may be wrong.
I also would like to read "Savitar" history, as a character he has this "grandness", that seems to be escaping the last characters of the recente DH books.
And Acheron, if I ever re-read the book, i'm gonna skip the first part, but i really liked the second one. My favourite is Valerius book, and i've re-read it a couple times now, and hope to do it again.

Dhfan4life All I'm going to say is I enjoy her work and hope she keeps writing til the wheels fall off. I may not have read everything she has written as I'm not interested in futuristic and historical reads too much. But I give the woman props for enjoying her job enough to even WANT to continue writing. I'd hate to see such an established author like herself just pack it up after one series and that is that. That would just be unfortunate as she does have a good product to put out there just like other authors.

message 28: by H.A. (new) - rated it 5 stars

H.A. I've re-read Acheron a few times but I skip most of the first part simply because it is too heart breaking to read over and over. No Mercy was good to me and I enjoyed Fang's story. What I really want is for Nick to get a happy ending and to read Savitat's story. And maybe Styx's if she feels up to writing that one.

message 29: by Bea (new) - rated it 4 stars

Bea I agree with most here, after Acheron I stopped reading the series. All of the plots seemed too similar and no one can compare with Ash.

I do recommend the Were books, I love the Wren and Vane books.

Santana I love Acheron's book and i admit in the begnning he is what kept me reading all the others in wait for his book or just to gain more info...but honestly i understand how people say her writing has changed abit and with all the new stuff *sighs* it can be daunting but i still read them like a slave ROFL i may say i want her to end it all and stop adding new characters but then i wouldn't be able to see how other characters are doing and what not...i think shes just finding it hard to let go of them i guess...i would too lmao

Cherryl This is my favorite in the series. It's a highly entertaining read. I laughed, I cried, and I giggled. SK, you're the best!

Tiffany I am also a lover of this whole series and I can't help it but read all the books because I am always wondering what is coming next for the story. Kenyon is one of my most favorite authors. I fell into her series by mistake. I am so glad for that also.

to be honest i feel the same as you hon...when they first started and ashes book wasn't out he was like everyones main guy we wanted to know about and read...now that its done and his book was amazing!!!! kind of hard for SK to top that one...then again i want to read jaden and jared but im not so obsessed with them as i was for acheron when i was waiting for his book lol

message 34: by H.A. (new) - rated it 5 stars

H.A. Jaden, Jared, Savitar and Nick are the ones I'm waiting for, mostly.

message 36: by Beth (new) - rated it 5 stars

Beth Agree with H.A. Jaden, Savitar and Nick (also Urian) are the books I'm waiting for. (Not sure who Jared is... if he's a Dream Hunter I've been avoiding their books.. their mythology is too weird/confusing for me to get into yet)

I enjoyed this book but Sherilyn has so many holes and contradictions in the series it's been getting a little annoying.

Also think Appolymi should have a book. She could find love with another god who spends time with her in her realm. She can still tour the earth in shade-like form, she has people pop in and out of her realm and she has a pack of charontes already there. I dont see why she couldn't find happiness and still not be "released".

Also there's more pantheons then the greek, sumarian, atlantean lines. They only briefly touched on the celt line in talon (I think?) book and that was just with the Morrigan. I think the author should close this pantheon up and let them reign in peace for thousands of years and move on to another pantheon/line of warriors or whatever.

Yes Morrigan is Talon's partner, Sunshine's, grandmother. Or well she was pretending to be, I think... I'm not sure how that works.
She's also mentioned later in the series and appears to Nick (?)

Boosmummy I loved finding out about Ash but wish she'd do Savitar's story. I'm enjoying the Nick stories but sometimes they seem to be not of the same storyline as it contradicts things that were in the dark hunter novels. You could read the Nick books as a stand alone if you've never read any of the others.

yeah, I would also like to see appolymi find love! :)

I think Appolymi and Savitar might have something going on.

Ashley I hope the Dark Hunter series never ends!! Same goes for The League. I can't get enough!!!!

Jeannie Lopez As many as she wants to write ill be reading ..

That's a great pairing. They'd both need someone equally fierce & tough. I like this pairing, they'd ahve what the other needs, except maybe the surfing, but she can learn
