Heather (flyinhigh) | 1 comments Sleep no more was my favorite hands down. It was my first so that could have had something to do with it. I have since read all the "Penn Cage's" and enjoyed them as well. I love the Tom Cage character and think if he ever fell short of ideas (haha) he could easily share some stories from his days gone by.

Ange Costantino (ange0806) | 1 comments I had a friend that gave me a Copy of Turning Angel I started reading it and couldn't put it down. That is what got me into reading his work. now i'm trying to get thru them all little by little. Penn cage's series i'm up to date on it all and cannot wait for the latest installment.

Dane Garreau | 1 comments I'm new to Greg Iles.....just read "Mortal Fear" and absolutely loved it! His character development is amazing, I felt like I had known them my entire life after reading the book.

message 6: by Cat (new)

Cat (calail) I "found" Iles a couple of years ago when I read the first Penn Cage, The Quiet Game. LOVED it... and was happy to find that there were quite a few others he'd written so I wouldn't run out any time soon. I've read the second title in the series, and have Devil's Punchbowl in the stack on my e-nightstand. :)

I don't feel like I've read enough to pick a favorite yet, but I've recommended his titles to many friends.

Sharon wrote: Anyone able to find or find out what happened and when Unwritten Laws in some form will be available? I just posted an interview with Iles in the forum, and in there he notes that Nanchez Burning is book 1 in a new trilogy about Penn Cage's father, and that Unwritten Laws will be the third book in this new series, after The Bone Tree. HTH

Rachel Sanders | 1 comments has to be turning angle, it is my most favourite book i have ever read and its the only book that no matter who i lend it to everyone loves it! :) even my partner who had never read a complete book before i introduced him to greg iles

Mark Noonan (noonan78) | 4 comments As of now my favorite has to be "The Quiet game". Probably one of the best books I've read in general and also my first Greg Iles book. I've only stuck to the Penn cage series so far but I am looking forward to expanding my horizons. The only problem is I don't know where tot start!!!

message 9: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (anor1285) | 3 comments Any of the Penn Cage books. The last one hurt me a bit, but I do look forward to final installment. I recently went on tour of Natchez. Was so cool to see all the places mentioned in the books!

message 10: by Sharon (new)

Sharon | 10 comments Read this author for many, many years and all his books. My favourite remains Spandau Phoenix (1993) !
IMHO his writing before the Penn Cage series was exceptional but this series started interesting but has become way too wordy, extremely violent, in fact OTT violent. Shame as his characters and concepts were interesting, creative and good storytelling. Now way too long so I won't see who is the last standing in the last book....the way everyone is either killed off or corrupted is past any caring or belief......

message 11: by Mark (new)

Mark Noonan (noonan78) | 4 comments I want to go to Natchez for the same reason. Just so I can go to all the places they mention in the book and stay at the Ebola Hotel!lol

message 12: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (anor1285) | 3 comments The hotel actually closed in December! I didn't even know till I went this summer. There is now a bed & breakfast with the same name, I believe, but the hotel Greg spoke of has been closed for months. I was pretty bummed out to discover that!

message 13: by Mark (new)

Mark Noonan (noonan78) | 4 comments That stinks. I still wanna go tho...I think it would be interesting. I'm just started "The Bone Tree' which I was putting off because the next book doesn't come out til next year and I was gonna wait but I can't.

I just took out Spandau Phoenix and Black cross. I just started "The Bone Tree" and as soon as I'm done with that those are next up. I plan on reading all of his books if they're as good as the Penn cage series.

Amanda (anor1285) | 3 comments I have Spandau Phoenix but haven't read it. I need to do that!!!

I was like that for years and years but this last heavy killing spree series now too much for me so left the last one! Early books were awesome reading.......

Brad Rogers | 1 comments Not only is my favorite "Natchez Burning" by Greg Iles, it's probably my all time favorite by any author. The trilogy, so far, is epic. Can't wait for Mississippi Blood (Unwritten Laws).
