I was getting Paris Match for a while, but it was very expensive and is a 'weekly', so I did not renew as I wasn't getting time to read it all. I still get France-Amerique online (but it is about French related news in the U.S --mostly--although it's written in French. I liked getting Paris Match since it really gave me the flavor of what was going on--and France's reaction--to many current events. I also get France Magazine and enjoy it (even tho it's in English) esp. for ideas about travelling and it's a quick read. You can get Le Monde daily (on Kindle) and although it's a lot to read, at least I don't feel that, if I don't get to it everyday, I'm not throwing away bundles of paper! I also got Bien Dire for a while (just the magazine, not the CD's as it was too expensive for moi!). I found it was an excellent source for improving your French, but I prefer more "news" related journals.

Another magazine you may want to consider is France-Amerique. It is published in New York and costs quite a bit less than ordering a magazine from France. It is published monthly and contains a broad spectrum of articles.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll investigate all of your recommendations! I have plenty of other resources for working on my language skills (or lack thereof) so my interest in a magazine is more in getting the French vibe and to have something I can relax with rather than struggle through.

I have seen french editions of Vogue and Elle at Half Price Books. And they seem to look completely different from the American ones. I have an RFI app on my phone. I read the English one but I think you can get a french language version more easily. I imagine CBC has something in french as well.
I like french comics and scifi myself. I have a Tintin in the original language and I have always felt the french edition of Metal Hurlant was much more authentic than the American translation. I do not know if it is still in circulation however. I recently was at a yard sale and the lady had a bunch of old BD's in french. Le Petit Spirou, etc.

I currently receive France Magazine, which is mostly in English, and I find the content interesting rather than an aid in learning French. I saw an ad for bien-dire, which is an audio magazine which seems to be both interesting and language enhancing but it's very expensive so I was wondering if anyone had any feelings about it one way or another. Any other thoughts on French magazines or newspapers would be appreciated too.
