S.R. Weems Is this just me, or did anyone else think that Extras ruin the series? I mean, I guess it was a good book, but it totally had Tally in a different light! I loved Uglies, Pretties, and Specials, but Extras was just...I don't know...TOO different.

Jorose (jorosep) | 9 comments I actually LOVED this book. It was one of my favs of the series. At first I didn't think I would, but I enjoyed seeing Tally through someone elses eyes. She had already changed so much in Specials, and I think we were able to see her make the changes she needed to be with David and we saw her from someone elses point of view. Specials were designed to intimidate people, but with her will power she wasn't just an ordinary special. I think we saw a softer side to Tally near the end. I totally cracked up in places, like when Friz kept telling the truth, especially when they were being taken by the 'freaks' and I loved the part when Tally 'pinged' Aya after she kicked her story. All in all, it wasn't the best of the series, but for some reason I did find it one of my favourites. Perhaps because I have a real problem with letting go of characters when I've finished a good series, and this book allowed me to 'wean' myself from Tally, David and Shay, but still getting to be a part of their world.

S.R. Weems Okay, I sort of have to agree with you. It was a really good book! I guess it's just bothering me that Specials was supposed to be the end and it had the most epic ending ever, and then he writes another book! It ended then it unended. Also, I couldn't see Tally that way. I just COULDN'T. It wasn't like she was the Tally we all knew and loved. Maybe that was the whole point. That just made me sad. :(

Jorose (jorosep) | 9 comments Yeah I know what you mean. I'm reading it again (to my husband, I read it to him while we drive) and so far we are almost finished Uglies. It did make me rethink Extra's a little bit. I do wish we had seen more of Tally and David in it.
