Book Crushes

Now that the movie is coming out and there is a face to the infamous name, I'm 50/50 on how I feel about that. I'm glad theyre making a movie and eager to see how it translates, but putting the characters to big screen might wreck the image I conjured of them in my head while reading the books.
we'll see...

Also, I must say that I have a crush on Ron Weasley from Harry Potter.

I have to agree with Anastasia, I'm kind of torn with the movie coming out. They didn't get Edward right, which was the biggest disappointment. But they didn't get Bella and Alice right in my mind. The closet one was Emmett.
But anyways, back to Edward...the old fashion and gentleman attitude does make him sexy. Plus everything he says to Bella, it makes me want to die!
I have to admit another one of my book (and movie) crushes would be Legolas from Lord of the Rings.

I have to agree that Lord of the Rings was one of Bloom's best movies, other than Elizabethtown. But even then they could have used someone differently.
Kels,
I sort of crushed on Fred and George Weasley in the Potter books. I just have something for a funny guy. Nothing serious.

Childhood crushes:
Curdie from Curdie and the Princess(by George Macdonald)
Huck from Huck Finn
Joe from the Betsy Tacy books.
The Prince from Ella Enchanted (don't remember his name)
The boy from A Wrinkle in Time (also don't remember his name)
I can't say that I've been as attached to a character since elementary age days....

And I stand by if you like Twilight(especially if it has to do with Edward) you need to pick my brain for all the Preternatural books I read because I got some men for you! Sadly, my father has picked up on my tastes and he recently handed me Hotter Than Hell. Oh that was so embarrassing... My dad basically handed me porn...
Hotter Than Hell is a good book though! Some good tales. Kim Harrison is an amazing writer and did great on the editing.Laurell K. Hamilton and her are both referenced on some of the up and coming books. I think they both have taken spots as amazing writers.

Great topic!
All time book crush would have to be Sirius Black from the Harry Potter series. I LOVE him, for so many reasons.
1. He escaped from Azkaban.
2. He is on the run from the Ministry of Magic.
3. He can turn into a dog.
4. He is a wizard.
5. He's really brave. He helps Harry a lot, he would have done anything for him.
6. When he was at Hogwarts, he was obviously a bit of a rebel- writing the Marauders Map, etc. Unfortunately, he was obviously a complete cac head while at Hogwarts too.
Ah, if only he existed in real life...

I also forgot Count Vronsky! I'm only about halfway through Anna Karenina (so don't tell me if he turns out to be a butthead) but I ignore the physical description and make him into an insanely handsome man.

-Professor Lupin from Harry Potter. Not so much how he looks in the movie, but I LOVED him in the book. :)
-Marek from Timeline
-Mr. Darcy
Oh my gosh..I am so embarrassed that I had a crush on Edward Cullen when I first read Twilight. I think I grew out of that one after the first book. He was intriguing at first. Then he became a possessive weirdo. I think I agree with Kelsey..it was the old fashioned, gentleman thing going on with him.

Another character I had a crush on was on Peeta from the Hunger Games, he was everything a girl like me would want and he knows how to bake, that is always a plus.
Anyone got a penchant for Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights? Another character I've had a crush on. He's so mysterious, and brooding, and, well, a complete asshole to tell the truth, but he had good reasons to be!

I also had a thing for Halloween from Idlewild and Edenborn. And Jesse from My Sister's Keeper. I guess that was my bad-boy phase, though admittedly Halloween eventually grew out of that and they were both pretty sweet under their hard exteriors.
Also, and I'm not quite sure if this fits here, but I really loved Cain from the play Children of Eden. And I sort of had a lady-crush on Eve. And Yonah. Yeah.

I read a lot of sweet romance books, so I always end up falling for the main guy.
Anyone read the Hourglass Door? I LOVE THAT BOOK! I fell for Dante.

Peeta, from Hunger Games is another. I liked him even more after Catching Fire.
Percy from Scarlet Pimpernel (though that might have more to do with the movie...)

I was pretty enthralled with Zooey from Franny and Zooey: the intellectualism, the smoking, and the description of his looks fit what I wanted.

the question was.." So, many of us may have crushes on actors etc... but what character from a book has made you go to mush inside? I mean before the book was made into the movie - and how do you picture them?"
