Rachel I'm a big fan of Francine Rivers A Voice in the Wind series. I was looking for recommendations on books like hers.

Samantha There is a series of 12 books by Bodie Thoene that novelizes many Biblical encounters. Second Touch (A. D. Chronicles #2) by Bodie Thoene - life of leper during time of Jesus. First Light (A.D. Chronicles, #1) by Bodie Thoene - blind beggar healed by Jesus. They all start out during modern times with someone reading an old scroll with the story on it. Each one adds details to and expands on a Biblical story. I have read about 10 of the 12 & enjoyed them, though they do not have quite as much romance & drama as the Voice in the Wind series.

Rachel Bremmer Redeeming Love is another great Francine Rivers book

Jana Another great author like Francine is Liz Curtis Higgs. She wrote a Scotland series that I loved! I believe the first one is Thorn in my Heart.

I have not read these, but look good. I have never found any books ever By Rivers that rival this set for best Christian fiction ever of this type of book.

Jennifer Lynn Austin writes Biblical Historical Fiction as well. Her series of Kings in Isaiah"s time is really good

Rebecca I agree with Jennifer, Lynn Austin's books are good as well and set in biblical times. This is the first book: Gods and Kings (Chronicles of the Kings #1)

I forgot about those. They are excellent in my opinion.

Jocelyn Gunter Have you read Francine River's book Redeeming Love? Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers ...another one of my favorites. It's hard to find books that are just this good! :)

Eve's Daughter's by Lynn AustinDream Eve's Daughters by Lynn Austin is a lot like Francine Rivers books A Mother's Hope, A Daughter's. It goes back and forth through the generations.

Francine Rivers is good but I agree with a earlier post about Liz Curtis Higgs-she is fabulous!

Jocelyn Gunter I've never heard of Liz Curtis Higgs..I will have to check her out!!!

Yes Liz Curtis Higgs is great!! I own every fiction book she's every wrote!

Victoria Try Julie Lessman. Shes a wonderful Christian romance writer!

I'd try Lisa T. Bergren's Gifted Series. It's set in Bible times and is a pretty good series. Not too much romance though, If you are looking for romance I love the River of Time series by Lisa Bergren. Set in medieval Italy!

Eliza Tilton the TAHN series by L.A Kelly, LOVED it.

Also, Deanne Gist is really good. THE MEASURE OF A LADY is one of my favorites.

And my favorite book of all time: Legend of the Emerald Rose. It's an Arthurian, romantic fantasy.

Crystal Plunket I absolutely LOVE Francine Rivers. I read this post and tried Lynn Austin's Chronicles of the Kings and really enjoyed them. Another great book is The Sword of Truth by Gilbert Morris. It's based in England in the times of King Henry the Eighth. It's got it all! I definitely recommend it!

Cassandra I haven't actually read it yet but I hear "The Protector" by Carla Capshaw is a real good one! And reading the synopsis - ancient times, roman hottie ;) - but role reversal of Marcus and Hadassah would find ourselves transported back again.

It's a Christian one too if you're looking for the spiritual aspect :-)

Debbie Jennifer wrote: "Lynn Austin writes Biblical Historical Fiction as well. Her series of Kings in Isaiah"s time is really good"

Oh yes, Chronicle of the Kings series by Lynn Austin is a excellent series!

Sophia Cassandra wrote: "I haven't actually read it yet but I hear "The Protector" by Carla Capshaw is a real good one! And reading the synopsis - ancient times, roman hottie ;) - but role reversal of Marcus and Hadassah w..."
I just read The Protector and it was an amazing book! I recommend it to anyone who enjoyed Voice in the Wind; it truly is a very well written book!

Debbie Favati Cleveland I was also looking for books similar to the Francine Rivers books that you mentioned! They were WONDERFUL! I've also read the AD Chronicles- all 12 of them- and they were very good as well. I just finished a series that you all may enjoy by Janettte Oke called Acts of Faith. Its a Trilogy and very similar to the other two series. If you enjoyed Francine's book or the A D Chronicles, you will enjoy this trilogy as well! She co authors with Davis Bunn.

Thanks for the other reccommendations! I'm going to check them out!

Sophia Another great series similar to the Mark of the Lion is the Seven Wonders series by Tracy Higley. The series is a Historical Fiction series that is also Chrisitian, and all of her books have a small touch of romance in them, which make them really fun books to read. Definitely recommend these to anyone who enjoyed Francine Rivers!
