Really? Nice! I saw them at Cafe DuNord in San Francisco - I bought their stuff - even got the red t-shirt 8)
Bach's 104th Cantata from Wachet auf "Sleepers Awake"(I was supposed to have an arrangement of it ready two weeks ago...ooops.)
My current playlist is audiobooks. I just finished Marlon Brando's Fan-Tan (which is remarkably horrible) and, after a quick run through Martin Bladh's Umbilical Cords to cleanse the palate (deep, jagged ambient, beautifully ugly stuff), I started Angie Sage's Magyk.
playing the White Zombie - Let Sleeping Corpses Lie box set. I finally have the complete material from them.
If you are a Zombie fan, it's a must. I had everything from Let Them Die Slowly on, but this has all the small label/independent releases before that. I'm enjoying it. Again a must for the White Zombie fan. Oh yeah, and it's still playing on my stereo too.
I know that Rob is supposed to be finishing up a new studio album but he hasn't released a title or date yet either. In May he said everything was written and mostly finished, but not everything. I'm sure he'll wait till around the release of his newest movie Tyrannosaurs Rex.I'm not sure if he's involved with Hollywood Undead, this is the first I've heard of them.
my sister's electrician found a time warp radio station here in Miami -- all disco -- but didn't mind hearing early Prince one iota.
Yeah, music is music. I'll look for Diamond and Pearls. Thirty-one carat weight, I'm sure. Happy New Year, music fans.
Vicki Jean wrote: "I have a Prince CD- Diamond and Pearls- I think is the name. And before you guys start with me just fuck off I don't care what you think! I love it"Oh, Prince's old stuff is awesome. The first three or four albums, before he decided to start making stuff that wouldn't get redlined? Awesome. And I still admit to love for those parts of 1999, Purple Rain, and that double album whose name I can't remember (the one with "Housequake") that didn't get played into the ground by the radio...
Johnny wrote: "This chick! BTW VJ, the wife was/is a big Prince fan, so she wouldn't let me mock you...;-P
"
You know the work of S. J. Tucker?
You, sir, are a man of impeccable taste.
Johnny wrote: "Robert-SJ Tucker is my daughter's Goddess-mother. She's done a couple shows a year at our place since 2002. "For Love of all who Gather" from Blessings is about our land, or something that..."
I know her through Catherynne Valente. Which should tell you all you need to know.
Blessings I do not have yet, I'll put it next on the list. (Just picked up Tangles and Tales from the Road last week. Wonderful.)
And yes, I know about the appendix thing. Facebook and Livejournal groups for helping exist, and I'm involved with both.
I'm only in the Facebook and Myspace ones. Guess we'll know Tuesday what's up. Not on live journal, sometimes I think I'm already on three sites too many...;-)Hey, find me on facebook. I'm pretty easy to find.
And yeah, I totally know what you mean. I have no idea how I'm going to keep following this all once I have a job again.
I had to get on Facebook because my highschool friends are all on there, not Myspace. Fortunately, the Blackberry has a Myspace app now along with the Facebook, so I don't have to mess with them much, just get my messages from them and yahoo as they happen. This is the only one I actually have to check. If they got a mobile "Goodreads" app, I wouldn't need a computer at all...
What's playing at my pad?1) Carter Family: American Experience
2) Gram Parsons: Fallen Angel
3) The Howlin' Wolf Story
4) Beach Boys: American Band/
Brian Wilson: I Just Wasn't Made for These Times
Vicki Jean wrote: "Welcome to my world Robert. 7 twelves for the past three weaks (did have 4 days off for Christmas)(as if I wanted them, with the company I had staying at the house)Though I'm only on Myspace and ..."
Oh, blow off myspace and go to facebook. No one uses myspace anymore unless they're using it for storage space or they're teen camwhores. (Or announcing shows-- but actually I even did THAT on LJ and facebook before myspace, which I don't think I've done yet.)
EDIT: by the way, you have made for a very happy household here. YUMMY YUMMY ALMOND ROCA. Thank you!

Current listening in the car is Sikhara's newest album, Anduni, after Wednesday night's show, which I still have to write about-- but I was out of the house all day yesterday and am leaving in about five minutes for a job interview, then when I get back I have to return two job calls and a lawyer call, so... this afternoon sometime. (Short answer: FUCKIN' AWESOME, and they're headed west, so if they hit your area, go see them no matter what)
