I recently read a few fan-fiction books because they were supposed to be really good. I don't like them at all. I think authors should invent their own ideas and characters, and not "borrow" from other authors. WHat do you think?

I like it in some areas. I do think fan fiction is good, sometimes people don't like the ending that the author gave, and want to change it, or sometimes fan fiction is good to twist the plot, (What would happen if a character acted this way all of a sudden)
whats fan-fiction? lolz i know, dumd question but hey, thats me!
Lucy wrote: "whats fan-fiction? lolz i know, dumd question but hey, thats me!"It's like people who write books about other people's books, with their characters or plots. To me it feels like stealing.
I don't mind it cause it could be better than the original.
Look at Alice in wonderland , princess and the frog, repunzel, rumpulstilkskin. Ect ect. These are original books that are word wide famous. And how many times has Someone made another one? It's no different than some thing like Anna dressed in blood ( that books amazing )
I couldn't care less if someone re-wrote it. I would probably read the re- make. It doesn't matter really. Like I said, people do that to old fairytales everyday. If no one complains about that, then no one should complain about newer ones. Wow longest speech ever!
