Here we start out with Hiam and the wall...Looks like things are falling apart, just as he seemed to feel. Ivanr continues on his journey...or is it really his after all? Some upsetting news seems to make me think otherwise!

Lee (kiwifirst) Interesting, the wall has issues with the sea rising, the riders seem relentless, yet I am really interested in hearing more about grey manes converstion with then, that they just want access to their prayer grounds, or something to tat effect. Is this a war of misunderstanding? Sounds like The Lady is a right bitch.

Lee (kiwifirst) The strangest thing about having two writers write a character is how different they appear. Whilst it is obvious who Jheval is, the character is written completely different, his personality and mannerisms have changed under ICE.

I think ICE loves Iskarael Pust, and emulates some of that funny characters style into Manask.

Got to say, loving this book.

Gods, the Liosen are a dull lot.

Yeah-I have been wondering about 'The Lady's" motivations for a while here.
Remember in Night of Knives? The end of the epilogue?

Dang it now I have to go look that up...

Lee (kiwifirst) Hmmm going to have to drag it back onto the kindle now. Lucky Shells isn't here, she'd be telling me off for not remembering the footnotes or asking if I read the authors intro ;)

This series has certainly produced some string female leaders, I like the way both authors build the female leader characters in a way that is believable, not sure how I want to word this, but it is like they both don't feel like they have to justify why the characters are leaders because they are female, it is just accepted because they are the best at what they do. Does that make sense?

Lee (kiwifirst) Finished, Impressed.

Manask is just hilarious!

message 8: by Lee (new)

Lee (kiwifirst) Isn't he just. I love the way he announces he is going to stealthily now move away so no one notices him.
He relationship with the priest is interesting, very much a love/hate relationship, there is obviously a lot of history there.

Yeah Lee this is my favorite ICE book so far!! It's better written then the others and as you said he and SE write women in an AWESOME way!!

I wanted to play a guessing game with you Lee but it looks like you finished Stonewielder already!! In the begining did you guess correctly who Jhevel was!!?? I got it right away becuase of the few clues ICE gave us!!

Lee (kiwifirst) Yes I think it was obvious who it was once the queen of dreams rocked up, then reminded him he owed her. To be honest I couldn't think who else it could be. But the character was differently written.
I actually grew to like Kiska.

Amelia (narknon) | 523 comments I thought it was hilarious about the bridge. Ussu and Bokrun wanted to blow up the bridge, set charges and everything, but weren't give permission. Then the charges are diffused, and, um, stolen. Then the Roolians want the bridge to be blown up. Great stuff!
