Abigail Smith wandered around the island. "Anyone here?" she whispered in her naturally quiet voice.

Ruby was tired. Tired of crying. Tired of fear. And most of all, just tired. She got up from the sand next to the plane that had crashed. She heard someone talking. "Hello?", she said in her sweet Carolina drawl.

Amanda Creek huddled next to a tree, arms wrapped tightly and protectively around her small legs. Her hair hid her face, hid her closed eyes out of which tears were leaking.

Robert got up, and started walking towards the water

Amanda shuddered slightly, then wiped her eyes on the knees of her jeans before looking up. She didn't know if anyone was there, or anything, but if it was a person she didn't want to be crying.

Robert splashed his face with the cold water

Amanda pushed herself up, sliding her back against the tree as she did so. She looked around, for any sign of life. However, she did not call out.

Robert layed down feeling exhausted

Amanda touched the tree with her small hand, her fingers delicately tracing the bark lines. She peered around, looking for life. People, animal, anything.

Robert fell asleep

Ruby stood up and began to walk around, observing her surroundings. She spotted someone next to a tree. It was the first person she had seen. "You were on the plane!", she shouted happily, picking up her pace.

Amanda looked around at the girl approaching her. "Hi..." She said softly, warily. She recognized the girl but didn't know her name, didn't know anything about her. Guess her mother's advice didn't mean much now.

Amanda inspected the girl. Her hair was nutty brown and sleekly curled, her eyes greyish green, and she could tell from her accent that she was from the Southeast. Directly across from the states as she was from.

Ruby stuck her hand out eagerly. "I'm Ruby. What's your name?"

"Amanda." She said quietly, taking Ruby's hand and shaking it.

Ruby smiled sweetly. "Nice to meet you. Well, have you seen any others?"

"No, sorry." Amanda smiled back a little. This girl seemed nice.

Robert woke up and decided to explore the island

Ruby nodded, thinking. "Well, this is a nice little island," she said half-heartedly.

Amanda didn't respond, not wanting to be rude in disagreeing with her.

Ruby sighed. "Alright, I'm going to look for food. You're welcome to come with me."

Robert walked around and then saw two girls, he came out "hi?"

Amanda was about to agree when someone behind her said hi. She spun around, nearly tripping and said "Huh? Hi!" in a hurried voice.

Robert thanked god that he wasn't the only one on the island, and smiled slightly at the two

Ruby smiled back and stuck out her hand. "I'm Ruby. It's nice to meet you."

Robert smiled and shock her hand "im Robert. and you too"

Ruby nodded in response. "Have you seen any others?"

Amanda nodded, but didn't offer a hand. She wasn't thinking about that.

"no i haven't, have you guys seen any?"

Ruby shook her head. "You two are the first I've seen. I'm sure there must be others though. Anyway, where are you guys from?"

"New York" he said putting on a New York accent

"South Carolina. Wow, I've never been to New York. What's it like?", Ruby asked, fascinated.

"it's ok, tons of tourists but other than that it's cool" he said his voice normal again

Ruby nodded. "We get some tourists," she said quietly. "I live near a college campus, so every time we're on break we always have a lot of parents and siblings in town."

" yeah... so do guys want to explore the island, see whats ore of it, im hungry too, so it would be a good idea to find some food, and maybe something to contact people"

Amanda nodded slowly. "Which way?" Her voice was again quiet, she didn't know why that was.
