Is anyone else reading this? Considering the title and the subject matter I thought that it would be a bit more entertaining than it is. Maybe I'm just not in the mood to be pleased.
I picked it up from the library, am hoping to get to it this week, late, but will still give it a try.
This one was super slow to start out. Callie on her interview and being seduced by the town. When I was in the middle of a chapter I would tell myself to give it until the end, then quit reading. But the new chapter would come about and I kept reading. Then somewhere around the mid 50's in pages, I realized that I didn't care what was going on with Callie, whey the Honeysuckle house seemed to want her there and what was up with all the weirdness in the town. In the end this one just wasn't for me.
I read this book. Honestly it was a bit slow and nothing really happened. And the ending was so open-ended it was clear there was a second book. But I wish the author had wrapped it up in the first book since I don't know if I want to read the next. . .
This is why I ask people to vote on the content, not the cover. I think most of the group gets distracted by a pretty cover, while a few of you actually read the description and might have thought it could work out. Scanning just a few reviews made me nervous about this one.
