same here, I read about Mughal empire in the school just as I read about the history of Pakistan. I am sure they don't teach the brutal realities in school.

I have heard good things about tareekh-e-Khuldun and it has been translated in English too. Has anyone here read or heard anything about it?

Hey has anyone read A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawkings. It is just awesome. It's like a sea of knowledge packed in a Jar.

And yes, watch this for the reference to what I am talking about,

Stephen's 70th Birthday

for mughal time period... there is some book in urdu like akbarnama or something. Someone recommended reading it once, I never did but its claimed that its available in urdu bazar.

I would like to read something about south asia's history too. I hope someone can recommend something that's actually history.
