I agree that I like to make lists. Whether I finish my challenges or not I feel like I have been reading more in the last few years than ever. :) I still have to work on all of my challenge lists and make a master TO READ IN 2012 list before my head explodes.

Finally decided what my categories are going to be. Who knew having free reign was going to be so hard? I thought about doing 12 anthologies-but then I thought that I'd rather read every single freaking Lora Leigh book published than do that. If you don't know, my hate for LL books is so strong that I find it hard to resist stomping on every one that I come across. So, suffice it to say, anthologies are out.

You are so bad, Charlotte! ^_^ The reason I resist the urge is because it's not the books' fault that their creator fills them with hella grammatical errors, barbed penises, dripping vaginas & TSTL heroines so idiotic that to kill them off would make the world a better place. They should not have to pay for the WTFery inside of LL's mind.ETA: And did I mention that every single freaking book I've read by LL goes:
Man meets woman.
Man develops huge boner for woman.
Man strokes himself to woman & is determined to stroke her.
Woman fights man's attraction to her.
Woman gives into man's attraction to her & they have sex.
Man & woman then engage in butt sex, which the man convinces the woman to do because "You don't really love me until you let me get freaky with your colon"
Bullshit suspense plot line thrown in between lots of sex.

Not that there's anything wrong with porn, but damn!!!! When a book has a group of characters that's squabbling over whether they can share a girl there is a serious problem.
LOL! Yeah, it is kind of sad. The heroine becomes less of a character & more of a vessel to fill. The heroes in that book are like brothers/cousins, right? Even in my insanity, I have never read that series. It wasn't until I joined GR & started reading better ER novels that I realized what crap I was reading. I like to call LL Porn for Walmart Shoppers. It looks so innocent & innocuous on the shelves but it's really Butt-sex smut in disguise.
@LethalLovely -- Ha..ha that's funny. I actually like LL. Her books are mainly erotica. No plot required. Tho, some has a pretty good one. I like to mix her books in some of the serious ones while I read. I love mixing thing up.

I notice you've listed the In Death series. Depending where you are in the series, a few of us in the Romance Readers Reading Challenges group are doing buddy reads of one book each month starting with Immortal in Death (book 3) in January. We had some great discussions over book 1 and 2, so it should be a fun year.

FYI, I changed 2 of my 5 categories. The first, "New to me Authors" I changed to "Books with Men on the Cover" (strictly PNR/UF/et cetera) because there are way too many books on my TBR that could fit that category. The second, "Third-in-Series" I changed to "Books released in 2012" (any genre) because looking through my TBR, I saw maybe 8 books that fit that requirement. So I'd actually have to add MORE books to the TBR shelves to complete that category. I ended up having to take off a book because it didn't fit the new categories, but it's all good. I'm trying to rein-in my TBR shelves, not make them grow.
I am in not to decide my categories...
