So in the first two books we learn all this stuff about Fallen Angels and the black hand and then in the third one Nora loses her memory. So shes going around the book with no memory of anything or patch. We know though so we go through the book knowing every deatail when Nora is trying to figure it out.

Suspense? I liked it because I fell in love with Patch... again :D
I wish it hadn't happened. I felt like it was not needed and was only done to stretch the book series to 4 books instead of 3. And for some reason the memory loss didn't make me fall for Patch it made me more wary of him. I don't think I ever really got over the way he treated Nora in Crescendo.
Eh. It was sort of unnessacary for me because to me, it was pretty much repeating their relationship. I do like that books, but I could have done with out it. I think Becca Fitzpatrick did this because she probably wanted more suspense and I think she was trying to lengthen out the book. It would have been interesting if she had done something else for the third book.
I thought the memory loss thing was really cool. Especially when she didn't know that Patch and Jev were the person.
I thought I would hate her memory gone but it turned out very sweet and romantic. I liked when she was falling for "Jev" but thinking about Patch. It was so cute for her to fall in love with Patch all over again! <3
So perfect for the story! I loved when Patch told her that Jev was Patch! I knew from when he pulled up it was him! I thought his name was Jeb, then it came back to me and I was like Jev!
It was so romantic! I just love how Patch and Nora feed off of eachother and how their relationship is always changing.

Exactly. that's been bugging my mind. I thought it seems preposterous at first but i came to realize, just like any other books, it contributes to the romance and the risks Patch is willing to take for Nora....
I agree. Patch first came off as the type who didn't care, but there is this whole other side to him that you slowly start to see as time goes on. Love it!

I think Nora losing her memory could have a more important impact on book 4, depending on how the author deals with it. Yes, we had to relearn everything with Nora and so in that sense it was repetitive, but something huge happened to this girl. She was kidnapped for nearly 3 months, treated god knows how. You don't just get over that. With Hank gone those memories are going to come back (unless Patch takes them away somehow). People can go a little nuts in situations like that and opening yourself up to that kind of hurt all at once might be overwhelming. If it isn't a big part of finale I don't know what to say. That kind of thing can alter and shape you life. I hope it isn't glossed over and trivialized.

i dont think it was nessasery. but she did get kidnapped, and held for 3 months. so that could be part of why she did. excpsley sense in some part of the last book (cant reamber what part ecaltley) but Hank was all like 'if you dont coperate your little gf will pay for it latter blah blah blah' to Patch, so we have no idea what he meant by that. and as far as Patch taking the memorey of that away from her i cant see him doing that to her. sense she lost almost all of her merorey already. and she can hardly reamber him.
I hated this book. The author just did it to make the series longer. Since Norah lost her memory, what could have happened is the third book is going to happen in the forth. Its dumb.
I don't know if it was necessary or not, being that I'm not the author of these novels, but I didn't really mind that she lost her memory. It showed us that they would always choose each other, no matter the obstacles and I liked how they fell in love all over again. SO SWEET! LOVE CONQUERS ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was an interesting way to stall everything that happened in Crescendo. It definitely made me fall for Patch all over again! Also, when things started to become clearer for Nora, it helped me understand more of the Fallen Angel/Nephilim world. It wasn't a repeat of the first book, but it WAS a repeat of Patch and Nora's relationship. Overall, the author did a pretty good job writing Silence, especially at the end, when Nora had to make her forced decision.
I feel like it took up too much of the book. I think that it should have only been the first 30% of the book because we know all the answers and don't need 5o% of a book to wait for Nora to remember. But I still loved it:)
No I wish it had been left out because it just ended up being boring and repetitive. I kept waiting for Nora to gain her memory back, so the story could progress forward.

I agree, its like the first book again, but Patch is more mysterious and their falling in love is more intense...

I kind of think it was needed because the idea needed to show how much Patch loved her (didn't want her to remember him)... but he came back anyways. lol In Patch's defense, she was looking for him and was on the brink of figuring it out.
I agree with bubblesthemonkey, it definitely was needed. it pointed out what their love really was and what patch meant to her. it was definitely necessary and it also added a mystery to the story.
I think it was a good idea because then you could see the other side of Patch that wasn't his bad boy reputition
I liked it because it painted Patch in a totally new light. We saw the exact depth of his feelings for him. It does make sense for the plot and though I don't know if it was the only way the story could have progressed, I feel like it was an original twist and an interesting one.
