I lost interest in the Alex Cross series many years ago....
Rosie, any other thriller writers that you like to read? I love Michael Connelly and Lee Child (except for the two books prior to his newest one)

and Stephen White
and Jonathan Kellerman--
have one from each in my ereader from the library just waiting for me~ YAY!
I didnt much care for Lee Child..
I also lost interest in Patricia Cornwell. The early Kay Scarpetta books were phenomenal but the last few totally sucked. Way too technical--was like reading a firearms manual. And the stories/plots were just so over the top that they were not even realistic at all.
Curious--why did you lose interest in Alex Cross? After he moved to DC and got married...I dont know for sure but the jist of Alex Cross just changed...*sigh

James Patterson lost me many years ago also. I liked the first few Alex Cross books, but then something changed. Now he is just a factory, laughing all the way to the bank. There are so many more satisfying writers out there to keep me interested.

John Grisham is another one that is laughing all the way to the bank and has lost my interest too.............sad, really, cus those authors are all good writers.
Rosie, I liked the latest Grisham book except that it was too wordy in parts.....a bit too long.
It is so long since I abandoned Alex Cross that I cannot even remember my reasons!

I have seen the newest Grisham and was wondering about it....
so it is pretty good?? I can skip over the wordy stuff maybe?
That is kind of how I feel about Stephen King...too wordy and he got too outrageous. I quit him with The Tommyknockers. It made no sense at all to me.
I have often wondered about trying him again--if maybe some of his more current stuff might interest me.
Rosie, here is what I wrote about The Litigators:
Although a bit slow at times, this was ultimately satisfying. I have no doubt that all the machinations of which Grisham wrote were accurate, much to my dismay. He did not paint a pretty picture of litigators.
