The Dark Tower Series discussion

I know there were rumors that there was going to be a movie and I read conflicting rumors on how many they were going to be (1 - 3). I for one either hope if they do it in a series form or do it in 6 or 7 movies, in theory Wizard and Glass could be broken up in flash back form throughout the series very effectively...I just don't want it to get gutted...

For right now, Universal Pictures has backed out and doesn't want the project. The latest updates on this date from 2011 to September 2012 from fan sights. Ron Howard, the films director tried to push for the production But Universal Studios declined. I love the series myself and still hope they will reconsider.
