Dickens - Three Ghost Stories

I do like some Dickens novels, most especially David Copperfield and Nicholas Nickleby, but I haven't read any of his ghost stories. After reading this, I won't be reading them in the near future either.

I'd already read The Signalman in an anthology - good but not great. That opened this collection.
Of the other two, the middle story (The Haunted House) is very odd - full of digressions and very little tension. It was obviously intended to be something other than a chiller I guess, but any other literary merit escaped me too.
The third, The Trial For Murder, was okay-ish. Some creepy images but pretty predictable.
Just wondered what others thought and if I'm missing something. For me, compared to someone like Le Fanu say, this was pretty thin fare.
