Jenny Schwartz (jenny_schwartz) Starting a new topic because I just have to complain ... I'm HOT! -- and I don't mean in a good sexy way. Wah, summer! I thought today was meant to be a cool change? I swear, if anyone knows a weatherperson, keep them away from me. This morning, I'd stomp on their toes.

So, how's everyone else's weather?

It's been unseasonably warm here in Minnesota, like in the 40s Fahrenheit. January is the month when we usually get the -35 windchills, and below 0 temps. Plus, by this time we generally have a couple of feet of snow on the ground. What's up? What are the temps where you are?

Jenny Schwartz (jenny_schwartz) "a couple of feet of snow on the ground" ... you say it so casually. But at least you've stopped me whinging. The thought of living in snow country makes me appreciate my sunshine even if I occasionally swelter. I'm definitely not a snow person. One birthday, a friend took me skiing. I got fitted up with skis, looked at the freaky things on my feet, considered my doubtful sense of balance, took the skis off and went into town to look at the shops :)

The weather here has been beautiful. Mid to high 60's. (I live in central California) It's nice for the kids on vacation but I wouldn't mind a little rain.

Jenny Schwartz (jenny_schwartz) Rain would be lovely. The east coast of Aus has had heaps, but here in the west we're still waiting. I hate when the politicians and experts start discussing water recycling...they mean drinking what has already been drunk, if you get my drift. Ugh.

Jenny Schwartz (jenny_schwartz) It's still hot! Yeah, I'm whiny in summer. Oh well, at least Don't Bite the Messenger is out next week. Ah, Alaska. Don't mind the vampires...the wind chill factor is minus ... um... my geography lets me down. Never mind, my point is I shall go somewhere cool in my imagination for a couple of hours. Whew.

Did DBtM have the cooling effect you were hoping for, Jenny? I'd love to weather-trade you right now. It's -15 F today, and we've got no heat and burst pipes at the day job. I'm typing this while wearing little, striped gloves. :(

Jenny Schwartz (jenny_schwartz) Definitely had a cooling effect :) Sadly, a fleeting one. Not even 7 am and the air con is on so I don't melt ... and nor does my laptop.

I'd whinge some more, 'cept when winter rolls around I know I'll hate the cold ... heh, not that we ever get anywhere near as cold as you :) Keep warm!

Where are you, Regan? I'm in MN, and it's brutal cold today here as well. -10F this A.M., with windchill even worse. I got so used to 40 and 50 degree days, I can't take it!

Alaska. We've got ice fog so thick this morning that it's basically still dark out. And the air is sharp. :(
