This book was all about trusting God. For Sierra who had a knowledge of God but refused to trust Him. For Kaylee, there was nothing else.
It is heart breaking to see the suffering of a child, but her mother only had herself in mind when she left.
It serves to remind me of the selfishness in me and the working together for good of God.
This book is beautifully written.

GenieD | 27 comments Just finished~ My Heart Remembers
It is a story of 3 Irish immigrant children separated from each other because of a family tragedy.
Historical fiction is my favorite genre so I thought this would work for me. I’m normally not a fan of most Christian fiction, it’s generally too sappy for me.
But this book was really a good people story. The siblings, each sent in different directions, always yearned to be reunited, except for the youngest who was a baby at the time. She has no idea she is not who she thought she was her whole life.
This book reminded me of a good Hallmark Channel story, tears and all!

If you haven't read Left Behind (Left Behind, #1) by Tim LaHaye you should! It's a really thought-provoking read! Another one that made a deep impression was Safely Home by Randy Alcorn . Amazing!

If you have Motorcycles, Sushi & One Strange Book (Real Life) by Nancy Rue and/or Boyfriends, Burritos, and an Ocean of Trouble (Real Life) by Nancy Rue on your TBR list (both were free at some point in the past year), read them and share them with your 12+ year old daughters. These books are SO wonderfully well-written! I just can't say enough about them!

Nadine May (nadinemay) | 6 comments Here is a novel that explores the soul of the African wilds, along with one of
the great issues of our time: the conflict between materialistic and spiritual
worldviews. It plumbs the turbulent experiences of an African missionary’s son
who leaves the mission for the life of a game ranger. Link to this book on amazon:

This book deals with the tricky subject of passing over in a non-threatening way,
making it easier to accept the abundant life that is possible beyond this dimension.
Through her long running TV Series and in private practice the author has gained
experience of the wide variety of sometimes traumatic events that occur in people's
lives and has interspersed her text with real life stories that are relevant to
the problems that so many of us face but are sometimes afraid to ask about or
don't know whom to ask.

This book takes you on a journey into the self, a journey of discovery, sense-making
and a fuller understanding of “Who am I?” and “”Why do
I do what I do in the way that I do it”.

It is packed with practical advice and tools that anyone can use to grow and develop
their self-mastery.

The personal story that is written alongside the content gives it a very personal
touch and makes the journey real.

Barnaby Rudge | 5 comments "Heaven" by Randy Alcorn completes a 20 year study on the topic. An excellent book. I really loved the animals part.

Adriana | 1 comments I just finished: When Dreams are Calling by Carol Vorvain
When Dreams are Calling

The book exceeded my expectations.
The book is the story of Dora, a witty young woman who chases her dreams across continents, from Europe to America, then to Asia, and finally, to the far away shores of Australia.
I loved the description of different places, Peru, Bali, Cuba, Amsterdam and Uluru (these are my favourite) but what I enjoyed the most was the main character: very funny, entertaining and smart.

It's the first book I read that has poems by the author at the beginning of each chapter.

A nice touch.
