"Good morning, Hagrid." Professor McGonagall stepped into the hut. She looked around. "It's hot here, Hagrid. Why do you have a fire burning in your fireplace? It's summer!"

Hagrid coughed. "Been feelin' a bit sick, proffesor." He answered. In truth, he had been feeling quite well .

"Hmm..." Professor McGonagall looked at him disapprovingly. She put her hands on her hips and pressed her already thin lips together. "I came to congratulate you in succeeding Professor Kettleburn for the post of Care of Magical Creatures. I hope that you will have more success with the class. Afterall, Silvanus Kettleburn was on probation for, I believe, sixty-two times. Well, good day to you, Hagrid, or as we now call you, Professor Hagrid." Professor McGonagall looked him up and down. "And make sure you don't bring any dangerous creatures into class." She turned smartly on her heel and opened the door, stopping to give Fang a cautious pat on the ears.

Annie skipped down the hill to hagrids hut. "Hi Hagrid!" she said cheerily. "How are you today?"

"I won', professor. Never would, 'round all these kids. Thank yeh, Professor." Hagrid said, squirming slightly under the womans sharp gaze. "Hello, Annie. I've ben' feelin' a little under the weather, but I've ben' fine. Yerself?" He said gruffly.

"I am just grand!" she said, grinning like mad. "The students here are super friendly! And my sister is having the worst time with my tricks and all," she smiled up at him. "Why are you feeling under the weather?"

He gave a small cough. "Now, If I knew tha', Annie, I wouldn't be feelin' it." he said,

"Oh,"nshe said, a rather puzzled look on her face. "Are you still teaching? Because I heard that there is a different Proffessor of care of magical creatures."

Hagrid gave a short booming laugh. "Never started to teach, Annie! But I will soon. Professor Kettleburn gave up his position, I guess." he said proudly.

"Oh," Annie said, feeling stupid. "That's what my sister told me. And congratulations!" she cries throwing her arms in the air. "When exactly do you start?"

He scratched his bearded chin. "Tha', I do not know. WOuld ya like some tea?"

"Yes please! But just herbal, please. My mum and dad won't let me have normal tea," she said, and she took a seat in one of his huge chairs. "Have you had any other guests lately?"

"Herbal tea is normal." he grunted. "No, no one has be'n visitin' me so far. How are yeh gettin' along in yer schoolwork?" he asked, putting a big mug of chamomile with a trace of mint in front of her,

"Hmmm..... really? Cause my parents made it sound like some special thing," Annie shrugged. "Maybe I just didn't understand them. And school is going great!!!!!!!! I love the proffessors!! And some of them are really entertaining! I can't wait until my third year to get to choose some! I'll choose Care Of Magical Creatures, of course," she said, all in one breath. "And NO ONE has been visiting you? That's horrible! I'll come visit you any chance I get!" she said excitedly.

He laughed. "Witch ones are entertainin' ya, Annie? professor Cal?" he joked. "Well, 'ow many students would wanna visit this?" he said, gesturing to the hut,

"Well, he can be at times, I guess," Annie said defensively. "But the Ancient Runes one never shows up! Whos it suppised to be, anyway? And I'm sure I will get all my friends to come with me to visit you by the time im done with them!" she said with force.

(( He? Andrea Cal is a she!!)) He boomed out laughter. "Alri', Annie."

((sorry, sometimes my iPod doesn't go as fast as I type.... I did mean to put she, though))

Annie smiled up at him. "Who is the Ancient Runes, do you know?" she asked.

He thought for a moment. "No, I can' do." he said, puzzled.

"Hmm, no one else seems to either," Annie said thoughtfully. "Oh well, I like it better without a teacher- no homework!" she said excitedly.

He laughed. "Well, I'm sure I'll give ya homework, annie. Speakin' of, you should be getting to yer schoolwork right now."

Annie sighed. "Yes, I suppose so," she hopped out of the giant chair. "Thabks for letting me visit, Hagrid!" she said.

"Any time, Annie." he said, still chuckling a little. He glanced back at the fireplace.

Annie saw that glance, and asked, "One more question before I go: whatcha looking at?"

"Just makin' sure my fire isn't gonna burn the place down." he grunted.

"Good idea," Annie said thoughtfully. "I suppose it could burn down pretty easily, couldn't it?" then suddenly she turned businesslike. "Well Hagrid, it's been delightful chatting with you, but I really must get back to work," she said pompously, giving a stuff bow. Then she grinned and threw her tiny arms around his neck. "Bye Hagrid!" she waved and skipped back out of his door.

"Bye, Annie." said Hagrid. He shut the door behind her. he closed all the curtains, and tended the fire.

"Hello Hagrid," said Professor McGonagall briskly as she stepped into his hut. "I haven't seen you in a while now. How are you doing?"

Hagrid nodded. "Been good.Yourself?"

"Yes, thank you Hagrid. Now, where is that hippogriff?" McGonagall asked.
[long time no chat!!! really glad to see the group is getting on fine with the new head]

"The hippogriff? Eh... It's round my hut, at the pumpkin patch." Said Hagrid. (( who's the head?))

It was Luna's second day. Hagrid had shown up at her door 2 days ago and announced that she was a wizard, like her mother and father. Hagrid had said that Dumbledore(isn't he supposed to be dead?)was still detecting if Luna was a wizard, and supposedly she was. So she visited Hagrid's Hut, needing to ask him an important question. Luna knocked on the door, and came right inside, to find Hagrid giving Fang a bubble bath. "Oh, uh, hi Hagrid," she said. "I need to ask you, the animal your patronus is... what does that mean about you?"
