We should all be grateful that it has given us some much more. But I don't want it to end!!!! *cries like a little girl*
I won't know what to do with myself. That is how attached I am. For days, I can imagine my self feeling hollow inside!
You play the harp?! And that is a beautiful song!!! *joins in with my harmonica*
Oh, so you have experience running into brick walls? There is a story here.
I get the feeling that this is why I am having trouble finishing Inheritance, I don't want it to be over. I was so hype up over getting it and then I just put it down.
I have felt this "hollowness" after a couple series already.
Anyway, I have always hope that Naomi would expand on Vici, or at least stay in the Temeraire universe in other time periods. I am not sure what she will do but authors usually like to branch off and do other things after writing a big long series.

Ya, me too... *sad thoughts*
But I have a feeling they Paolinin and Novik will visit their worlds again.

I was glad for the humor that comes from meeting the feral dragons, and in the first glimpses of Iskierka. It helped lighten what was otherwise really a very grim and terrible journey for our heroes. Not that we don't believe they won't make it through somehow the whole time!
They are a good addition to the story, yes. Don't know if I liked them very much though. What is it about them that made you smile?
And what is it about Iskierka? How can she make me love her and be so frustrated with her at the same time!?

Oh the ferals get a little irritating sometimes, no doubt of that, but I think it's a continuation of realistically showing the dragons as "people" in their own right. After all, who doesn't know someone we find silly and irritating, yet is a good enough person to really feel that you can't completely write them off! Iskierka was cute-crazy in her first appearances here, like a toddler can be. She started getting more frustrating and less cute in the next couple books, but I think that was partly to build the suspense where we could all see that she was going to cause a disaster unless something drastic happened to keep her in line. Makes me feel bad for Granby.

I feel bad for Granby too!
I know what you mean, the dragons in these books are almost more real people than the humans. (not to say the dragons are human, they aren't) But they have so much personality on there own, very 3 dimensional.
