Hey Lauren, I love the rule where you said to say WHATS wrong with the story, 1 time I looked on a story and there was a comment and it just said,"Its horrible." and thats rude and they didn't say WHY it was bad(I thought the story was good, the girl who writes it is quite good at writing).

I don't really have any questions so I'm gonna leave this discussion haha.

Jack Knapp I'm not sure there's a thread for this yet, but if not, allow me to start one.
I've been reading a series of three books I 'borrowed' through Amazon's KU program. I'm still reading, even though the books are disappointing.
I realized what bothered me about the books: the beginning's OK, the middle flounders, the ends are ho hum.
Then I realized that my OWN book, the one I'm 85% finished writing, has the same lack of focus that bothers me about the series I'm reading.
As a result, I'm going back and snipping out threads that don't directly advance THIS plot. Since this is book three of a series, I'll be able to use those extraneous threads in book four.
Call it author discipline. Despite the temptation to allow each character to develop his own thread, resist! Stick to the story line!
If something is bothering you about YOUR book, you might take a look at the manuscript and think about this post.
