What's third child?

Oh Well there is a book series called the shadow children. In that time there is a food shortage so they banned people fro having more than two children. Some people defied the laws and had children anyway so those children had to go into hiding. The population police keep the number of children down by killing all the third children they find.

I haven't read Among the Free yet though I want too. But I have soooooooooooooooooo amny other books i don't know when i'll have time! So far i like Among the Enemy and Among the Hidden best, but thats because Jen was my favorite character
