2012 Newbery announced tomorrow morning from ALA winter conference in Texas.

Here's the link to watch the streaming live online:

Seriously, I'm an accountant but I'm as excited as a kid on Christmas Eve. I love this stuff.

I immediately hopped on my library's website - as luck would have it I'm now first in line on hold. Can't wait!

Kathy | 60 comments I'm 16 of 17 holds on first of 10 copies to be returned. One is already declared missing.

Luann (azbookgal) | 26 comments I'm able to get the two honor books, but not Dead End in Norvelt at my library. At least not yet. Hopefully now that it's won, they'll get it.

Dawn | 66 comments We said we'd discuss Dead End in Norvelt in March, but I've been on the hold list at the library all this time and I'm still waiting for a copy. I'm finally #1 on the list, so whenever it gets returned, I'll get it next. How are other people doing at getting a copy? Can we wait a few more weeks before discussing it?

message 8: by Kathy (new)

Kathy | 60 comments Maybe I ordered the wrong book. I just picked up Okay for Now by Gary Schmidt. Was that in the running?

I just picked up my copy. It's . . . interesting . . . in the first three chapters. We can bump the discussion to April if need be.
