Favorite character?
I can't really pick one, but I couldn't help but loving the crap out of Augustus. He seemed so charming, intelligent and awesome.
I would say Hazel because I find her to be a very interestingly complex character who develops wonderfully throughout the novel.
Hazel defiantly, because for me she was a character I could relate to (minus the cancer) and I felt like she opened my eyes to whole other side of everything I once looked at, yet never thought much of.All I can do is say, thank you John Green.
Peter Van Houten. I don't know why. It's not because he's a particularly GOOD character, but he was interesting.
Even though the ending is tragic, I loved how different it was. How they both were so in love, but not in the stereotypical way. Much like Romeo and Juliet, it gave me something to hope for, even if just for a little while.
I love Gus as much as possible, but there is something really admirable about Hazel. I love the way she uses sarcasm and humor to protect herself from the "grenades" that are other people but is also bold about how she sees and will not permit the same behavior in, for example, Isaac. I love the part after he's had his second eye removed and they talk about what Monica did to him, breaking up with him just before his surgery. And then the way Hazel thinks but doesn't say she's afraid she'll "Isaac" Augustus. How it wasn't Isaac's fault he went blind, but it still wasn't nice. It's incisive in the sense of cutting and at the same time, it's a clean and fair cut because it's true.

Because really, his external attractiveness and his staring are what first drew Hazel (and me as a reader) to him. It was only later that his intelligence and charm came to light.
oh no, ugh.....I have no idea, i love hazel's perseverance and her wonderful personality, and i love handsome augustus, and his wonderful charmingness and how intelligent he is. Of course there are others, and normally i love some little side character that helps out but isn't exactly a main character. But those two just beat it all <3

thats a good point. but would the video game be prone to accents?
My favorite character definitely has to be Agustus Waters, he was just perfect in every way possible
Hazel's the kind of girl I'd like to be friends with
Without a doubt, Augustus. I just love his spirit and outlook on life and humor and optimism and just over-all adore him. I found myself falling in love with him a bit myself along with Hazel.
You can really tell that all of these people are girls. every other comment is "I fell in love with Augustus!" of course so did i...
It's such a hard decision... I'm going to have to say Hazel, but as I say this, I instantly regret it!It's a tie between Augustus and Hazel
Absolutely and definitely Augustus Waters. I fell in love with him instantly and he's just one of those characters you wish were real. :)
ahh definitly augustus, he is just so confident and smart and witty without being unrealistic, another proof of John's Genius writing :)
I'm gonna go against what most people are saying in the comments right now but...my favorite so far is Miles (Pudge) from Looking for Alaska. Reminds me a lot of myself.
If I had to choose someone, besides Gus and Hazel Grace, I'd choose Isaac. I loved when they egged Monica's (is that the right name?) car. Beautiful.,
Hazel and Augustus. I loved watching them develop together <3 if I had to pick one it would probably be Augustus
Okay, this is really hard for me. First off, Hazel is such a beautiful character. She grows throughout the book, and Augustus helps make that happen. Also, Augustus is a phenomenal character. He lives in his own world, but hazel really helps him see that there are other perspectives, and he opens up to her. Also, Isaac is a really really great character. He was kind of Hazels only friend in the beginning, and he helps Hazel see love in a new and interesting light. Hazels mom is awesome, and doesn't get enough recognition. She is completely devoted to Hazel, and does everything possible to help her. Hazels dad was also interesting. I liked his role, and saw him a lot as my own dad. (My dad pretends to hate it when I watch stupid shows like my little pony, but it makes me me and he knows it.) also, even though Van Houten is rude and pompous, he is very funny and he reminds me of one of my uncles. I really like him and feel bad for him because he lost his daughter and tried to have her live on in his book. Also, I enjoyed how Hazel looked up to him basically as a god, and when she met him she realized that he was just another human being. Also, he was very intelligent and knowledgeable in Shakespeare, which I admire. Also, I really liked Liedewig, because she was so lovable. I just aww :). In conclusion, my favorite character is Van Houten, followed y Augustus, Hazel, Hazel's Mom, and Liedewig.

But Hassan, Lindsey, and Hazel are my TOPTOPTOPTOP favorites.
If i have to chose i would not do it between Hazel and Augustus because that would be a fight with myself so i Pick Isaac i Really Think that he is so important in this story and i love him....

Gee, I really loved Augustus. He's one of those book characters that I wish existed, so that I could give him a hug and praise him for being clever and amazing.
But, Hazel was also a really great character, in that she didn't take people's crap. She told things how they were, and I really respected that.
