cool. I heard it was a Richard and Khalan story but not much else was said. still if I can read Law of nines I can still try this one.
Better than the Law of Nines, not as good as the other SoT stuff, but at least you get to see Richard and Kahlan again and some cool new magic.
I hated it. I loved the SoT series, but I think it should have stayed finished. The Omen Machine just wasn't up to the same standard. I wish I could unread it and just leave the story finished as I remembered it :)
This book reads like a start of a brand new trilogy or series with the same characters. It has new magic, new places, new villains. I think when it's all done, the new writing can reach the level of the old. I'm willing to give it a chance.
I enjoyed the book, though it was not up to the SoT standards. I wish I had known it was a "part one" type of thing though.

She was just the introductory tool which gives us a look at Mr. Hanny. I'm anxiously awaiting this next book where we find out what Hannis Arc is actually capable of. In eventual hindsight this book will be fantabolous!!!
Dany wrote: "I do want Goodkind to write a book involving Shota where Richard and Kahlan have a son. "So do I! That would be so cool. I have been hoping for that plot line ever since Shota made the first threat!
I was interested to see what others thought of this book as well. I'll admit I have to pass on it. I agree with Carole in that the series should have stayed ended.
I also thought Omen Machine was a little shoddy, but I was happy to be back with Richard and Kahlan. Is it just me - or is Nicci getting sort of annoying. She's like the third wheel of every situation. I loved her as Death's Mistress - and I liked her A LOT in Faith of the Fallen, but ever since Chainfire she has seriously been on my last nerve.
I'll totally read the next book if he writes another Richard and Kahlan book - I love all the characters, they could do anything and I'd read it. LOL.
Although most of the novel Omen Machine I was wondering why the hell Kahlan would be so afraid of dogs - she's murdered at least 100 men, wtf could a dog do to her?!
But then it made more sense at the end, that magic was making her mind work wrong....so I forgave Terry. All that matters is it made sense in the end. LOL.
Nicci needs to fall in love with someone other than Richard!!! I hate the Objectivist trope that there's only one true love and if they pick someone better than you, you don't get to move on!!!

I thought it was a good book! I'm not sure where Goodkind is going with it but I really can't wait to find out!!! I hope he comes out with it sooner rather then later.
