I love most of the IAD series...there were a few that I thought were so-so but it's rare for a series to have that many books and me to love them all.Don't have Lothaire yet...will get it soon though.
Trying to remember which was my favorite, but I can't remember them all off the top of my head.
I'm in the midst of reading this series and I admit I love it:)I am currently on book 9 and looking forward to Lothaire!
I'm waiting for the paperback as I'm too cheap as well :)I'm planning on doing a reread of this series this year. As there are so many books it is easy to forget who does what in which book.
I'm a cheapo myself, but not this time! I HAD to read this book as soon as it came out. KC is one of my favorite authors - the humor mixed in with the hotness of the heroes and heroines is just fantastic. SO... this is one of my favorite books from the entire series - so far :) I loved Lothaire throughout the entire series, is he a good guy or bad?, and his story (although I wanted his HEA to be with Nix) is so emotionally complex. I didn't like Ellie in the beginning but by the middle and definitely at the end, loved her, him, and them together. Great addition to the IAD series!
I also had to get this book, ASAP. It... was not what I was expecting at all. I guess it was poetic justice though... the way things worked in it. Also, finally, the curiosity about Lothaire being good or bad is solved.. sorta. I also liked the female lead.. Ellie definitely packs more than enough punch to take down the Enemy of Old.
Yes, she will but it will be probably be one of, if not the last book of the series. I went to a book signing with her about a year ago and she had no immediate plans to write Nix's story but there will be one.

I plan to start this series this month. I can't believe I still haven't read it. I have to say though that I find the guy on the cover of this new book creepy.
Alisa wrote: "I plan to start this series this month. I can't believe I still haven't read it. I'm just reading this series, and I'm mostly loving it. Cole Wroth's book kinda dragged on for me, but I've loved all the rest. I just finished Cade and Holly's story, and it was great. Love all the action, adventure and the steaminess that was lacking in Cole's book. But I do have a major issue with the cover. Holly goes on and on about Cade's blonde hair, blonde stubble, and even blonde body hair, but the cover has an admittedly gorgeous DARK HAIRED guy with no horns! It's a drawing or painting, so why not go all out and make him look as he should? Cole was missing the horrible scars that he received while he was still human, and I didn't think Bowen looked right either. Maybe I'm being overly critical, but this is supposed to be a picture of the characters for us to be able to visualize them as we read. If the picture is completely different than how the author describes them, it just makes it pointless to have the cover there to begin with. There might as well be a stock drawing of a demon there rather than someone that looks nothing like the person described in the book in my opinion.
I've asked authors what the deal is with covers and in the case of blonde heroes they say blonde hair tends not to photograph well. Strange because there doesn't seem to be a lack of blonde women on the covers. Could it have something to do with the fact men's hair tends to be cut short? I have no clue.
There seemed to be a cover trend several years back to have less life like covers for Paranormal novels. The two examples I can think of off the top of my head are:
I guess we still see similar covers from time to time like:
I prefer the more realistic covers, but obviously some readers must prefer the ones that are more cartoonish/drawn.
Generally I don't like the cartoonish covers, however, I did really like the Sookie covers. They were just so bizarre, almost like surreal artist pics.
Definitely the cartoons for Sookie, they are so original and the other ones are so run of the mill. As to IAD, don't really like A Hunger Like No Other but the others aren't too bad. Half a head has been done to death IMO.
Oh, I just love the cover for
. One of my all-time favs. I agree with you on the cartoons for Sookie, Sandra.
Well, I think because it makes it look like he is the vamp rather than Emmaline. Also it is almost identical to another cover, which I just can't remember off the top of my head. But I do remember the heated discussion about it.
I agree Sandra, that makes him look like the vamp rather than her! I thought the same thing when I read the book description and say the cover. I do like the IAD covers over all, other than the little things being wrong once you've gotten into the book and learned about the characters. I actually love the "A Hunger Like No Other" cover, even if it is slightly misleading. But he also had to mark her when he claimed her, which was in about the same spot he's leaning over, plus didn't he like smelling her skin and hair anyway? Like most of the Lore males? But that cover just spotlights how small Emma is compared to Lachlain. The other covers with Valkyries don't seem to show how tiny they are supposed to be in my opinion. And I read through most of the older posts and I'd just like to say, the party is at my house at midnight central time when the Nïxanator's book comes out!!!! We'll get the audible and plug the kindle into the surround sound system!
Sandra wrote: "...Also it is almost identical to another cover, which I just can't remember off the top of my head. But I do remembe..."I am wracking my brain trying to remember the other cover. It just will not come to me.
Lisarenee wrote: "Or to stay more on topic, how about these:
VS
VS [bookcove..."You know I actually prefer the American ones for this series.
Typically though I like German covers they always seem to get the edgy ones.
I must have had brain freeze or something with my first comment. It was CONRAD's book that dragged on for me, I have no idea why I keep thinking his name is Cole. Maybe because of the author's name or something, but I'm constantly forgetting Conrad and either can't remember his name at all or think of his name as Cole. I'm reading Murdoch's "short story" now, and it's kinda blah for me also. I think it's mostly because it's repeating so much that's already happened with the Wroth brothers that it's kinda driving me crazy. He and Danii are apart more than they are together, which also makes for a crappy romance story. I'm down to just over 60 pages left so hopefully the action will pick up, and these two kids will finally figure out how to have some skin to skin contact without pain for them both!!
I read MacReive's book and I loved it.. Although I think Gareth and Lucia's book is my all time fav! And I really want Nix to get a book!
MacReive's book didn't thrill me as much as I would have liked. Will came off really sour and he never got saved in my eyes.
Dark Skye came out in August of 2014, and a new Arcana (her YA series) just came out it looks like. Also she did that serial of The Professional or whatever it's called, that she started before Dark Skye and finished after. There were three or four parts to it. All of that takes time away from the important stuff, meaning IAD!! Goodreads has a new IAD that's supposed to be out December 31st of this year, but I have no idea of Cole or her publishing company put it up or if a fan did, so the info could be completely wrong. We can only hope it IS wrong, and that there will be a new one much sooner than that!!
I'm really disappointed about having no news on the Dacian series period. And like you said Angie no official word on the next IAD.Arcana seems to be doing well though.
Yeah, me too. It's nice to see Arcana hit #4. But it was a let down because the subject said IAD news as well.
Yes, as if we wouldn't know who she was. LOL.I scoured the n/l for even a brief mention of IAD, and nada.
On Facebook she mentions the release date for the new IAD book will go into her next news letter I think it is due out next week
Yay!! I haven't had too much interest in her serial books, too expensive for the amount of pages, but I'm all over the IAD books! Now I have to double check to make sure I get her newsletter.
She says in her latest newsletter:The next IAD installment will be released in early December. I know that's a long way away, but the IAD books are the most time-consuming for me to write--and I want to get this release perfect!
So who's the couple?? I'm currently writing on more than one story--each one fits into the overarching Lore timeline; each one has specific challenges/thrills. Whichever book beginning takes wing the most will be the next IAD release. So that's why I've been mum! The next IAD couple is TBD. Sorry for the delay, but I will let you know as soon as I do!
I CAN say that you will learn more about the Accession and Nix's mysterious past. . . .
I'm excited about the last part. But I'm getting this vibe we probably won't see another IAD until next year.
I'm surprised she's writing more than 1 story at a time, so maybe we'll get one at the end of the yr and another one in the 1st half of 2016.
Sandra wrote: "I'm surprised she's writing more than 1 story at a time, so maybe we'll get one at the end of the yr and another one in the 1st half of 2016."If they have events that are very closely related, and I can only guess that the closer to the Accession we get the more likely that is, it's possibly easier for her to write however many at the same time. I find it quite interesting that Nïx is spelled using the wrong I in it. Not that I've ever checked to see what the difference between i and ï is, though I've always kind of wondered. I *AM* super excited to get more of her story, no matter how her name is spelled!! I think she and Bert are my two favorite Loreans!!
It's funny, till you mentioned it I never noticed the spelling of Nïx. Just got my copy of A Hunger Like No Other out cause I knew exactly where to check the spelling, and yep it is just as you said Angie. Go you!!!!!!!
