Lindsay (archerlindsay) | 9 comments So I just finished reading Gideon's Corpse and desperately want to chat about it with someone else who has read the book. I am the first one in my ring of family and friends to finish it and now I am left struggling to keep my mouth shut until they have read it so I don't give anything away.

So anyone out there read it?? Or read the first one and want to chat about it?

Spenser | 1 comments I just finished reading it about 5 minutes ago! What's up?

Diane Fisli | 189 comments Hi, I've read it! What a ride, hm? :)

Lindsay (archerlindsay) | 9 comments Sorry I have been slow to reply - stupid work gets in the way of my reading and Goodread's using!

I loved this book!

I guess my biggest thought/question is what do you think about Gideon's illness? I still don't know if I trust Glinn it wouldn't surprise me to find that he had altered Gideon's second opinion results.

How do you have a main character that has a year to live???

Also, I am terrible for trying to figure out who-dunnit while reading the book. Did you see the author being as involved as he was?

Diane Fisli | 189 comments I caught on early that it might be the author. But I think I'm naturally suspicious of anyone's motives - particularly in a case like this. I guess I think like the "other guy" - the bad guy - when I read these books. I've always had quite a talent for seeing both sides to a story - I might have made a great Judge. :D

I enjoyed "Gideon's Corpse" as well. With a terminal illness as a part of what's hanging over his head, Crew makes for a very interesting protagonist. I am unsure about Glinn but I suspect he's being rather tricky. He is a master manipulator. I like him, but I'm unsure I *should* like him. :)

Lindsay (archerlindsay) | 9 comments I bounced around on the who-dunnit through the book. At first I suspected the head of the radiation unit but it seemed too obvious. Then it was the crazy guy from the hippie commune, then I actually suspected the author's daughter it wasn't till the end that I guessed it was the author's daughter and by then I don't think I should get the points for that guess it was too easy. I suspect I am just what the authors hoped for because I really just picked everyone as I went along : )
