Because of Amazon's data going away from Goodreads and Goodreads deleting all books not shelved by members, many of the books painstakingly added to our shelves are likely to disappear. Of those that remain, many covers will be reimported and others will be added manually by volunteers. I'll try to add books again as I find them. Thanks, everybody. If a book has been shelved by at least one member, we won't lose that book on our shelves, although much it its data might be missing for while.

Oh, how many books do we have? And what is the deadline for this?
I can create a new shelf to my personal account, something like vegan-cooking-group, and then add all the books from this group's shelves ... if that would help !
The deadline was yesterday. Goodreads is reimporting millions of covers and books over the next couple weeks. The last couple weeks I, and many librarians, have been working furiously to save as many books as we could. Thanks, Rachel. But the books are gone from Goodreads. Many that weren't saved were Kindle only books and books in languages other than English, and also books not shelved by any members. But there are others too.
Eventually, most will be added again and most data for most books will be added again. It's been an extremely trying time.
And, we have to be very careful where we get our data from if we manually add books or add data to books. So far the following are okay.GOODREADS SOURCES OF DATA:
Ingram
WorldCat
ISBNdb
All Major American Publishers
Many Smaller American Publishers
The Library of Congress
The German National Library
The British National Library
Goodreads Authors
(And growing!)
But I suggest at this point everyone wait a couple weeks to see what Goodreads can import. Librarians should devote their time to edits that can't be made without them.
