Olivia (deer50) I enjoy anime that HAS a plot that builds up or is leading up to a great climax and has a real ending. It's hard to find anime like that...
Not a fan of comedies or episodic anime. I like shows that are memorable. I like very sad/depressing anime for some reason. O.o
Like Elfen Lied or Grave of the Fireflies.
I usually don't enjoy anime/manga that are too long. Even if I like it. I just hate sitting through too many episodes. And those shows tend to drag on anyway.
I enjoy fantasy or mystery genres.

Amelia (narknon) I've pretty much only seen Full Metal Alchemist and the new one Full Metel Alchemist Brotherhood. I actually need to finish watching Brotherhood.

I do love Japanese art. I could just gape at some pictures I've seen for quite a while.

I have seen some Japanese movies, which aren't exacltly anime, but kind of fit in here. Things like: Ponyo, Howl's Moving Castle, etc.

Olivia (deer50) Ponyo and howl's moving castle are anime movies though. So they do count as anime.:)
Ponyo was cute but not my cup of tea.
I liked Howl's moving castle but I thought the plot was all over the place and it got confusing. O.o
My sister absolutely loved these 2 movies.

Traci There's no one style or genre I like. Fantasy, Science Fiction, Action, and I like a bit of romance and humor.
Dragonball, Inuyasha, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Fruits Basket, Kenshin, Full Metal Alchemist, Saiyuki....

I think I might have liked Howl's Moving Castle more if it wasn't based on my favorite book. It's too different. The book isn't an anti war message. It's more of a screw ball comedy. Animation was beautiful though.

Maybe I would have liked the book version of Howl's moving castle more if I had read it first before I saw the movie. It's the other way around for me. The book seems even more confusing and different than the movie.
