But what now?!
Are the Mortal instruments as good as Fever? City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare

Thank you!

Katya | 645 comments NO matter what you read....it won't matter because it won't be as good. You need to go through the morning period. Maybe a couple days or so. It was the same with Fifty Shades trilogy.

When I am morning I try to pick something light and easy to read. then I search out something deep and emotional.

Gemma (bookmoodreviews) | 511 comments I must be one of the few who threw my book across the room at the end of fever. There was so many plotholes and no explination at all..... My expectaions were risen and dashed just as quick.

I see what you mean..something light then..
So Fifty shades is a good trilogy? It's not paranormal is it? not that I only read that..just asking.

I originally wanted to go for that serie: seems light enough! ;-)

I understand.. the last pages are a bit like that, I wanted her to confront Dani for example.
and the whole end of the world issue is still there.
I guess as long as we all know Barrons & Mac are ok, the rest didn't matter, ah ah !

Danielle I have about 150 pages left and I am finding it hard to get through. This does not sound encouraging.

Hmph! I refuse to shell out any more money on the Fever series (There is a spin off series with Dani and I'm sure I heard that there is more books to the fever series.) I say that the now, cut I'll come on here and get sucked into the series again!!!

Estelle (E) (vivelafantasy) | 256 comments Ok, for the ones who didn't really find the Fever series gripping, what would be the one you LOVED, and why?

I really liked the Fever serie but to be honest, there's so much hype on it that I may have been influenced..
Looking for great reads so any advice?

thank you

~Jennifer~ (book_addiction) My favorites...

Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews - I love Barrons..but he's no Curran. I ♥ Curran (a lot).

Cassandra Palmer series by Karen Chance - Pritkin could probably give Barrons a run for his money. I'm dying for the last book to come out. And don't forget Mircea...he's quite nice, too.

Chicagoland Vampires series by Chloe Neill - Love this one.

Vampires in America series by DB Reynolds -

Jolie Wilkins series by HP Mallory - Really good. I was pleasantly surprised.

Lucy Valentine series by Heather Webber - Very cute. Very good.

Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs - Adam. Adam. Adam. and Sam. :) Very nice series.

Kitty Norville series by Carrie Vaughn - I really like this series, but I do have reservations about what happens with Cormac in the last few books.

Black Dagger Brotherhood series - I love this series. I do admit, though, that I tend to skim through the 'Lesser' parts.

Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost - Bones. May Chapter 32 be forever lodged in my memory. ;)

Estelle (E) (vivelafantasy) | 256 comments Thank you, that's great! I'll check them out
;-) !!!

~Jennifer~ (book_addiction) If you read Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews just remember that it's a lot of world-building and the rest of the series should in no way be held against it in case it's too much for you. The first time I read it I was a little 'ehhh whatever', BUT I'm so glad I kept going anyway. Curran is my book hubby. (And I don't share. He's mine! lol)

Estelle (E) (vivelafantasy) | 256 comments ah ah !! it's a deal, he's yours!

I found the 1st of the fever series a bit difficult to read because of the world-building too but I got through..
;-)

Gemma (bookmoodreviews) | 511 comments The Night Huntress Series by Jeannie Frost (SP?) is also rather good if you want your story to last over a few books.

Wan (wanwaddell) | 195 comments I second Gem H. I think the Night Huntress Series would be a good series following the Fever.
Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1) by Jeaniene Frost One Foot in the Grave (Night Huntress, #2) by Jeaniene Frost At Grave's End (Night Huntress, #3) by Jeaniene Frost Destined for an Early Grave (Night Huntress, #4) by Jeaniene Frost This Side of the Grave (Night Huntress, #5) by Jeaniene Frost One Grave at a Time (Night Huntress, #6) by Jeaniene Frost

Estelle (E) (vivelafantasy) | 256 comments Cool! thanks!

~Jennifer~ (book_addiction) Yep. Night Huntress, too. Can't believe I left Bones off the list. He would be so mad at me!

Gemma (bookmoodreviews) | 511 comments Mmmm bones........

Gemma (bookmoodreviews) | 511 comments Oh there is a series by jaye wells. the first book is Red-Headed Stepchild. They are good too

~Jennifer~ (book_addiction) I forgot the October Daye series by Seanan Maguire, too. Love Tybalt and the Sea Witch chick...can't remember her name for the life of me atm.

The Brothers are my very favorites, but have to admit that I have fallen head over heels for Bones! The Night Huntress series is just fantastic! And Chapter 32.....whew!

Katya | 645 comments Iced (Fever World, #1) by Karen Marie Moning Something to look forward to.

Jenny | 114 comments On KMM's blog she said that she was going to do three books that involve Dani,

"I'm currently working on a trilogy that features Dani, Christian MacKeltar, Ryodan, and the mysterious 'Dancer,' set primarily in Fever-Dublin. Each installment in the trilogy is a stand-alone mystery, however there are larger plot arcs unfolding in the background...

..For those of you who have been worrying—the trilogy is not YA. If I had to categorize it, I would say it straddles the line between YA and adult uneasily. ...Many of the questions I left unanswered in the FEVER series are addressed in this new series.

Exciting news: I’ve agreed to write two more books after that. Once the new trilogy is complete, I’m returning to the core story begun in the FEVER series, and will resume writing about Mac, Barrons, V’lane, Cruce, the Unseelie king, the concubine, the Song of Making. All in all, there are five more books coming about the Fever World

So I hope that she gives us the answers that she left unanwered in Fever.
I haven't found anything that is close to Fever, but Karen Chance's, Cassie Palmer or Dorina Bascarb comes close.
Touch the Dark (Cassandra Palmer, #1) by Karen Chance Claimed By Shadow (Cassandra Palmer, #2) by Karen Chance Embrace the Night (Cassandra Palmer, #3) by Karen Chance Curse the Dawn (Cassandra Palmer, #4) by Karen Chance Hunt the Moon (Cassandra Palmer, #5) by Karen Chance
Midnight's Daughter (Dorina Basarab, #1) by Karen Chance Death's Mistress (Dorina Basarab, #2) by Karen Chance Fury's Kiss (Dorina Basarab, #3) by Karen Chance

Another series that I'm enjoying is Cheyenne McCray's Night tracker.
Demons Not Included (Night Tracker, #1) by Cheyenne McCray No Werewolves Allowed (Night Tracker, #2) by Cheyenne McCray Vampires Not Invited (Night Tracker, #3) by Cheyenne McCray Zombies Sold Separately (Night Tracker, #4) by Cheyenne McCray Vampires Dead Ahead (Night Tracker, #5) by Cheyenne McCray
While no Fever it is a solid series and I like Nyx the main character.
Good luck.

Gemma (bookmoodreviews) | 511 comments I have book 1 and 3 in Cheyenne McCray's Night tracker series.

Book 1 is on my list for a quarterly challenge on another thread

Ok you guys sold the Night Huntress series to me. Bring it on! ;-)

Well I'm assuming that Iced will have that confrontation of sorts in it being that it's Dani's story it's out late october and she said she's doing like three or something...I loved the ending of fever and I will say it is so very different of an ending but it needed to end that way IMO because it's not a frilly HEA which I love HEA books but Barron's is just not the type for a reveal all or a huge sappy romantic ending. You should go to her site and read his "interview" and also the from his pov sex scene both were very interesting.

Victoria | 9 comments Also to anyone thinking of starting fever I recommend reading her highlander series first. It's almost a shame to miss out on some of the stuff highlander fans got in the fever series if you didn't read highlander first. And highlander books are all about the HEAs!

Estelle (E) (vivelafantasy) | 256 comments I'm going to read the Highlanders series at some point.
My Gosh I've got so much catching up to do, I've got so many series lined up!!!

So you think JZB sex scene is worst reading as well?
right..will order it too! ;-)

May I just say WOAH!!! I don't know about chapter 32...just started but just read chapter 12 and it's a good thing you can't see me blushing red hot behind the computer! ;-)

THANKS for your advice, Cat & Bones are all what I needed ;-P

Dale Ibitz (goodreadscomdale_ibitz) | 65 comments I wasn't totally in love with the first 2 Fever books, but I'm glad someone encouraged me to keep reading...I liked the series. I also wasn't discouraged by the last book (maybe because I already knew there were more coming). I can't wait to see more of Christian...I could read a spin off just with him alone! Go druids! Thanks for the other series ideas. I have a gift card to spend...LOL.

Komal | 162 comments I just finished this series a few days ago! I was not expecting it to be soo good but wow! I was pretty satisfied with the ending.

Victoria | 9 comments The jzb sex scene and interview are definitely worth a read u can find them on kmm's website.

Mlpmom (Book Reviewer) (mlpmombookreviewer) | 839 comments I read the interview but I couldn't find the deleted scenes.

Victoria | 9 comments It's from jzb's pov her blog doesn't seem to be working tonight...but it was on there. i will check back tomorrow and see if the issue is fixed and then post a link if its there.

Oh, the JZB sex scene was very cool. Oh so Barrons! He just gives me goosebumps. Definitely worth the read. I'd love to have a whole book from Barrons POV...I bet that would be eye opening!
