I've read Daimon and half-blood. I really like the covers and how every book has a different colour, but same style.

I'm hesistant to read this series because I heard it was really similar to VA...what do you say about this Kay?lol I'm sure you'll have an informed opinion for me. Truthfully I couldn't really get into VA. I thought the first book was good, but it didn't make me want to read the entire series, so with this book sounding so similar, I'm reluctant to read it.

Janelle, the first half is very similiar to VA, but mostly in terms of world building. The writing style is different and the second half of the book get's better and most of the similarities disapear. I was very irritated at first by how much it looked like VA, I did like VA, but I don't like books that are similair. But I ended up liking half-blood, especially the second half is really good. And if you like Jennifer Armentrout's writing style, you should definetely read it.

Okay Lolita, just cause you told me so lol If it's not completely similar than I'll give it a try, and I definitely like her style of writing.

I also like jennifer armentrout her writing style and that's what kept me reading, altough I didn't like the similarities in world building. I think that a good writing style is very important in a book :). I hope you will enjoy half-blood. btw you can first read the prequel daimon, which is free and can give you a feel for what the story. You can download the prequel from Jennifer Armentrouts website.

It's not completely similar it's just based around the same kind of principles that's all. Definitely give it a go it's brilliant.

I loved VA (you should finish that series)

I would say it has a very VA feel to it but different at the same time. When I see similarities in a series I will call it out and generally not be happy about it and I felt that way about half way through this one but JLA is so completely different that I had to keep reading... I was confident that we would veer away from VA because it is her. And yes it does separate from VA not only in writing style but story line.

aww thanks Love you too. I think we were planning on doing a group read of Pure when it comes out. I'm gonna re-read daimon, half-blood and Pure.

Woohoo. I was thinking we could start the prequels like a week before release day and that'll give people a week to read the prequel and the first book, if they wanna join in. I'll sort it out more closer to the time.

Yes if they haven't read the books it's the perfect time for them to read them. I just thought a lot of people in the group will probably be reading Pure and Onyx when they comes out so why not buddy read

its not at all like VA its a great read the guys are HOT and the Alex can kick butt I've read all VA and after reading Pure I have to say Alex can stand on her own she really is an amazing character,

I think this series is a lot better than VA and while there is certain similarities in teh beginning on book 1 they kinda ease out and the story becomes a lot more original in the second half of the book. Pure is nothing like VA at all and it's so much better.

I have to say I think Jen is a much more talented author that Richelle Mead (don't hate I still love Mead's books) and Pure is without a doubt the best damn sequel I have ever read and it was absolutely Epic. I am so excited my review of Pure is going up on my blog next week and Jen done a short interview to go with it. Squeel.

What the heck! Now that is one messed up person. You do have beautiful hair, but I wouldn't say it could insite that kind of freakish behavior.

I joined an internet radio site a while ago, and wouldn't you know it, I started getting friend requests. When suddenly I realized they were all men, I stopped accepting them. I even had one guy ask me to send pics and he would do the same. I told him I wasn't into that sort of thing and he went away just fine, but after that, I have been quite a bit more frugal about giving out my friendship. lol.

Yeah, I didn't realize how rampant they were before that little episode. You just have to be so careful these days. I love the internet and the fact that I can chat with you from half a world away, but I guess everything has a downside. :/

Nic, I'm so glad. Obsidian is my first love too, it was the first JLA book I read and adored it so as much as I love Half-Blood Obsidian is number 1. Though Pure does compete with it for first place, but obviously Daemon wins.

You know the funny thing about VA is I only read the first book. I really liked it, but for some reason it fell off my radar. I've been wanting to finish it, but is it worth it as a series? Do they get better?

Yeas they do Christie, it;s an emotional journey, I think maybe it wen one 1 book too long but really worth it.
