I learned that the Big Bang theory might be supported by the Quran, (mentioned something like, And We made the matter in a dense, compact ball...) but I'm gonna have to check again, because I forgot. I'll get the surah and ayah number, Insha-Allah.

No there isn't. It's kind of a small town. There's only about 3 or 4 Muslim families. probably less.
your parents should hire a quran tutor or something...or, you could go to a masjid. in masjids there are lots of people who know how to read quran.(but there may be some exceptions)
Quite the opposite for me. I can only read Arabic. Want to know what I dispise? Is when people pull out small verses of the Quran and say that it is violent. It annoys me and is like uughhh!
A- That's not the whole verse!
B- 'Cause there is a commentry behind it!

Same problem with me, there's only one other Muslim family where I live. I asked my uncle to teach me how to read in Arabic better when I don't have school

don't live with parents..grandparents are always too tried to teach. so i stopped asking..plus they're not patient.
they got separated when I was 11 and then they couldn't work out their differences..so they got divorced.
my mom took my younger siblings. (2) and my dad took me and two more siblings of mine...but he wasn't capable of taking care of us..so my grandparents took us in.
Don't be sorry..but thanks.@Hira What do you mean by there's people who pretend to teach Arabic? Like really...How can anyone pretend to teach Arabic?
I don't think it's a sin to mis pronounce a word if you're learning to read the Qu'ran. But if you mispronounce it then you may not be either saying a real word or accidently say another word. But I don't believe there's a sin, unless it's done purposly and knowingly.

I don't know this so I asked my dad and he said it's not exactly haram if u mispronounce the Quran. It's just not a good thing.

sometimes by changing the damma into a fatha, or vice versa, you change Allah into the object and Shaytan into the subject."And surely (subject) will punish (object)."
WHOaaoaoaaaa
see that? HUGE difference. My Quran teacher blew up at one of my former friends for making so many tashkil mistakes; i think she did a mistake like the one above for like the 5th time and my teacher just couldn't take hearing it anymore.
i learned that if you speak while someone's doing Adhaan, you get cursed, for every word that you speak (unless its just repeating the Adhaan). i learned it only two or one week ago so ever since then i've been shhshhing my freinds down when they try to talk during Adhaan.I also learned that if you do not say (saw) after the Prophet's name is mentioned you get cursed. So I try to make sure I do, and I've been getting my family to do it, too.
Hira wrote: "Teaching the Quran is a big thing. You have to have proper tajweed, u should be able to pronounce the words. Cuz if you make a mistake with the words and tajweed, you can get a big sin"not necessarily.there is a saheeh hadeeth that states that when a person is trying to read the Quran sincerely and makes a mistake they get double the reward

yeah..thats what i thought when i first read it. i was like, "Woah! how many curses did I accumulate by now? O.O D*"
Kristina Ivashkov wrote: "Bought a translated Qur'an today! soo excited to read it inshallah!"that's great but i also recommend to have some one teacher you the interpretations ( tafseer) of the passages. ( It becomes very helpful when you also understand the ayahs more. enjoy reading it.

i don't think your teacher should have blown up on her. because now your friend is just gnna be too worried to make mistakes and not enjoy volunteering to read. idk maybe this is just my expectations from people who teach. i just think the teacher should've have pronounced it for her. practiced more with her. like approached her in a different way rather than blowing up on her.
@Joy There are so many online Quran classes offered through websites. I joined one once, and you get to learn with a teacher via skype. I think it's a great idea if you look into doing something like that :)My favourite Surah from the Quran is always changing lol. But I always seem to gravitate towards surah Tariq.
.....By the sky and the night comer -
And what can make you know what is the night comer?
It is the piercing star -
There is no soul but that it has over it a protector.
So let man observe from what he was created.....

Confidence wrote: "I took an online class to, on Skype"I find its the only way to really make time for tajweed learning.
Yeah it was good and I was learning but then I stopped bc the teacher was falling asleep while I was reading
Confidence wrote: "Yeah it was good and I was learning but then I stopped bc the teacher was falling asleep while I was reading"Aww my teacher wasn't that great either. Your teacher fell asleep- my teacher hit on me! Trust me falling asleep is good lol
I was mortified lol, so I stopped with that program. Nothing is better than going to halaqas I guess~
Confidence wrote: "lol r u serious? wow that is mortifying. and i wanted to go back... smh"Yes- horrible abuse of his position as a.. wait for it... Quran teacher!
I would think that all the rewards for teaching tajweed are gone once a guy does something like that.
But yes I should add that that was probably just him. Ofcourse not all tajweed teachers fall under the same category, thankfully lol.
the guy that was teaching me was a little creepy...
do u know any other way i can learn the Quran on the internet?

Some of my favorite duas from the Quran
Surah taha verses 25-28
رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي
وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي
وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِّن لِّسَانِي
يَفْقَهُوا قَوْلِي
“O my Sustainer! Open up my heart and make my task easy for me, and loosen the knot from my tongue so that they might fully understand my speech.”
(ii) Surah Taha (Chapter 20), verse:114 (excerpted)
رَّبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا
“O my Lord, increase me in knowledge!”
Surah Ash-Shu’ara (Chapter 26), verses:83-85.
“My Lord, grant me wisdom, join me with the righteous; give me a good name among later generations,; make me one of those given the Garden of Bliss.”

I didn't read through all the posts here but for those who don't read Arabic or who struggle with it... you earn more reward from reading the qur'an than someone who is fluent in Arabic. You are not only rewarded for reading the Qur'an in general (even in a translated language) but you are rewarded for each letter you struggle with so there is great reward in attempting to read it in Arabic and striving to understand it. I cannot read it fluently in Arabic either but I always read it in English and then I try to struggle through some of it in Arabic for the extra reward. I try to learn two new words or so each month and the more words I recognize and understand the easier it will get. But it is difficult and may Allah make it easy for all of us who desire to understand his message to mankind.
