I woke up, feeling dizzy. I don't know what had happened. Piles of rubble had fallen.
" Where am I? Who am I?" I thought.
My hand was bleeding, and I didn't know what to do, or what had happened. I stood up, and thought about it, but still couldn't remember. I walked on the ashes, and plucked out a green dusty sign, that said:
U-turn to World Trade Center.
So that's where I was. I thought. The World Trade Center. But why was I here? I had never been there before.
Suddenly, something, or someone stirred. It was a little girl. She ran towards me, and said:
" Are you okay?"
" Who are you?" I asked her.
The girl mumbled to herself. I couldn't hear what she was saying.
" I am Sarah Welder. By the way, I realized I never really got your name," she said.
My name. I thought. I really concentrated on her words. I really didn't know.
" I don't know," I replied.
" Oh," Sarah looked disappointed.
" Why do you look so glum?" I asked her.
" Well, the WTC buildings crashed down," her voice cracked.
" What??!! " I asked her.
" It crashed right when we were inside the building. Don't you remember?" she exclaimed. " You and I were hugging, and that's when it fell," she told me.
" Oh," I was in utter shock.
" Come on," Sarah said. "Let's see if there's an open sub shop or something around here, so we can ask for help," Sarah led me towards where she thought the road was.
" Okay," I stated as I followed her, sucking on my thumb.
We walked around the empty, dust covered, deserted roads, until we found a Starbucks coffee shop that was open. We ran inside.
There were 3 people in the shop. A man, a woman, and her baby.
" What's wrong? What happened?" Sarah called to them.
" OH! Someone's finally here! We were waiting!" the lady shouted.
