DragonDreamer Selene Paced up and down her hallway, talking with her mother on the phone and nervously clenching and unclenching her fist in one hand while holding the ringing phone in the other. She stopped in the middle of the hallway when she heard her mom pick up the phone on the other end.
"Selene?"
"I sent my grades and reports..."
"Yes. I got them."
Selene waited for further commentary. She heard a sigh on the other end.
"I told you you weren't being aggressive enough. How do you expect to be a top shadow hunter with reports like that? And your grades? Why aren't you top in all your classes. You should be the best at hand to hand combat."
"I know Mom, I'm trying-"
"Trying is different than doing. Fix it. This is disappointing."
"I know. I will."
The line went dead and Selene put her phone away in her back pocket. She felt like screaming every time she talked to her mother, screaming at herself mostly. She couldn't waste her time though. Time should be spent productively. She started back into her room to grab her bow and arrow and Gabriel before heading out for some combat training.

DragonDreamer Max sat leaning on the palm of his hand, his elbow resting on the desk. He had pulled an all-nighter the previous night, trying to research the car crash that killed his parents, but none of it was any use, sadly. He was just so tired. His eyelids drooped sleepily, too heavy for him to keep up.
His elbow slipped and there was the brief feeling of falling before his eyes snapped open again. He groaned and searched his bag for a bottle of water.

message 4: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer Selene was making her way through the halls towards the training center. She noticed a happy looking straggler, not seeming to have a care in the world. Must be new... she thought to herself. She walked past him, figuring she shouldn't concern herself with anything other than working towards being the best, but stopped, maybe she should introduce herself? That was what was usually polite, right? No, it still didn't matter. She kept walking. Still, just because she was going to be the best didn't mean she had to be rude. No. Forget about it. She didn't have time for this. After her humiliating defeat the only thing she should be introducing herself to is the punching bag and the obstacle course. She picked up the face, a determined, stern expression on her face.

message 5: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer Selene bit her tongue to stop the embarrassed smile coming on to her face. The pain helped cancel out the distraction. He was a very attractive boy with the blonde hair, southern accent, dazzling smile and, as far as she could tell, acceptional muscle tone. But they were just that: a distraction. For a girl like her at least.
"I'm headed that way. You can go with me." She stated after she regained control of her face. She didn't slow down for him, but he seemed to keep up pretty well, so they might as well...
Oh no...Her mind started a mental panic.I'm not going to be able to have a conversation with him! The realization struck that she didn't talk well with people. Well, she's always known this, but it only now presented a problem because they were going to walk together and it was going to be completely silent and awkward! He was going to think she was some sort of freak-
Stop it!A voice in the back of her head sounded, her mother's likely. It doesn't matter. It's not like you're going to make a friend or anything. This was right. She knew she didn't have the luxury to worry about such trivial things.

message 6: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer "I'm fine." She snapped all too quickly. She sighed, calming herself and rolling her shoulders, a technique she used to relax and loosen up when she was tense. "I mean, I'm fine. I'm a little stressed, but nothing I can't handle. It's personal." She explained, combing her fingers through her dark locks and pulling it back into a hypothetical ponytail, but let it go all at once, letting it fall once more down her back.

She realized she didn't give him her name when he had given her his.
"My name is Selene Mystreek." She said, daring a glance to the side at him, his easy smile making her bite her cheek this time to suppress the smile and blush. He was rather friendly for a shadowhunter. Another sign that he was new to this whole thing, but somehow she still found it refreshing in a cute, but sad way. This kind of business changed people. She saw it happen. Not to her, of course. She'd been pushed in this as long as she can remember.
"You're new around here, huh? Where'd you come from?" It was a bit depressing to watch once happy and easy going people turn hard and serious. It's like all the light just drains from them. She wished the best for him though, whatever she could at least.

message 7: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer ((um I was thinking he could either be in a library or in a college class))

He was trying to be friendly and that much was apparent. She offered a small smile, but it probably was a bit awkward looking or odd. She felt weird and uncomfortable. She didn't talk like this with people. Not even her mother, though that was a completely different story.

"Azriel... I need to find her. She's part of the reason I'm stressed out. I need to beat her." She said, remembering why she was going to the training room in the first place. She needed to beat Azriel in this one thing and then finally she could be the very best and her mom would be satisfied.

"Yes, Alexander is basically everything. He's really strong and wise." She shrugged, still trying to think of a strategy to beat Azriel. Perhaps pin her with arrows then go into close range combat? That wouldn't work...

"Georgia... Is it as nice down there as the pictures seem?" She asked. She'd only ever seen pictures or video of other places. She's never travelled away from New York. She thought about his comment. Was he implying that none of the girls here were pretty? Did that make her ugly? She shook the thought, reminding her conscience that it didn't matter.
"I don't think my mom would like any boy I bring home." She thought out loud, coming up to the combat center.
"Here we are." She opened the door and glanced around, hoping to see Azriel somewhere.

message 8: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer Selene opened her mouth to protest, but closed it once they got to the training room. Her eyes glanced over all the familiar equipment, knowing which was what and how it was supposed to be used. It was sort of a comfort. She always felt so much more in control here. It was her sanctuary in a sense.

She didn't see Azriel, so she supposed she should just train until she showed up. And until then, it would appear that it would just be her and this Raiden guy.

She went over to the climbing ropes, wiggling her arms out to warm them up before jumping on and starting to climb. While she was climbing, she figured there was no harm in talking, so she thought it might be nice to actually continue her conversation.
"I've only ever lived in New York. It's kind of hard to imagine going to some small country town where there's trees and grass everywhere..." She said, making her way up the rope swiftly.
"Though I doubt you could win over my mom. She can be tougher than Azriel at times."

((I'm thinking of introducing Raven to create some havoc on mortals. then the Shadowhunters can be called to go take her down and then she makes problems among them? idk. she's not the greatest villain... but thera isn't on so i can't really have a showdown with her and Selene.))

message 9: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer Raven sat in the library today because there seemed to be quite a few people there and she'd already been to most other places in the city earlier. She tapped her well groomed nails on the table she was sitting at, rather bored because none of these stupid humans. Why couldn't they simply be more emotional?! It was so much easier at clubs or parties because people were intoxicated and willing to act. She stood, about ready to leave and head to central park again when she spotted a pretty blonde girl waltz in and sit next to a drowsy boy near by. A twisted grin curled its way onto her lips as she took her seat once more. These two would have to do. She so wanted to be entertained.
Channeling her powers, she exerted them towards the two. The boy would be a little easier since his apparent lack of sleep gave him less will...

Max looked up and noticed the newcomer, a pretty blonde that seemed pretty laid back. He had briefly been wondering if she went to the same university as him when all of a sudden he was filled with such anger and offense that he stood and spoke out to her.
"Hey! I was going to use that!" He glared at her.

Raven smirked, satisfied. She now turned her attention to the girl. She tried some conflicting emotions, such as desire, sadness, and anger. This should be delicious...

message 10: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer She reached the top, tapped the bell and dropped periodically back down the rope before starting to climb it again with just her arms.
"What? Air is air. I probably wouldn't notice the difference. And besides, most of the underworlders are in New York. And L.A, but you get what I mean. I wouldn't know what to do with myself there."

She glanced over at him fighting the rubber chest, then pop it's head off and turn around to give her that cocky, triumphant smirk of his. Though, she had to admit he had good form. He was quick and fluid and hit his mark. Definitely not bad. Rather good for a newbie.
"Have you fought any monsters before? You're not too bad. We should spar. Maybe I can shrink your big head a size or two" She said, reaching the top and starting to drop down again.

"And as for your charm, it's not that I haven't noticed. I'm sure many a girl down in Georgia would simply die to take you home like a prize trophy home to mother dearest, but it's a bit different in New York. Especially with my mom. She's not the sweet, cookie baking, welcoming kind of woman you're probably used to down in Georgia. She's tough, ruthless, and one of the best shadowhunters around. She's the head of my family and, one day, that's going to be me." She said, leaving the rope and heading over to him, putting on the appropriate gear for sparring.

"I don't really think she actually likes anyone. So don't take it personally when I say she wouldn't like any boy I bring home. Besides, it's not like I'd ever be stupid enough to make good friends or boyfriends or anything." She shrugged, waiting for him to take a stance opposite of her so that they could spar.

message 11: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer She saw Azriel come in and nodded in greeting. "Azriel, after I'm finished with Raiden, I challenge you." She said before turning back to Raiden.
"That surprises me. It would seem quite the opposite." She shrugged.
She noted the slight difference in his expression as he spoke. Did that make him feel sad? She thought about asking but it was probably too personal of a topic so she let it slide.

Selene dodged under the punch and threw a right round-house kick to his back.

((what is Azriel the best at?))

"Don't hold back, Raiden."

message 12: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer (( this will work out better than move by move good idea :) ))

Selene had been so taken aback at the sudden and incredible improvement that she didn't dodge his elbow and took a hit to the temple. She had been fortunate enough to regain focus in time to block his attempt at a blow to her rib by redirecting his fist with the palm of her hand. He was good. A lot better than he would let on, but that didn't mean she would lose. She wouldn't disappoint her mom again.

She crossed her arms across her chest where he aimed to kick, she fell back, but used the momentum to backwards roll and pop up with her hands, landing on her feet only a moment and ran a bit closer to be back in his range. She threw a punch with her right arm at his left cheek as a distraction for when she tried to hit her knee to his side a moment later.

She crouched down and did a sweep with he leg to trip him or get him to jump so she could grab one of his feet and pull him off balance.

message 13: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer Raven giggled delightedly, playing with their emotions some more.

"Wait!" Max looked at the girl desperately, feeling such confusion and guilt. "I'm not sure what came over me, that was out of line. I actually... I... I think you're the most beautiful woman in the world!" He blurted out, but then smacked his hand over his mouth, thoroughly embarrassed and not quite sure why he was all of a sudden having an emotional roller coaster ride. It was all so crazy. He felt like he was in love with her after just meeting her and she just slapped him. What was going on? He must have been suffering from some insane sleep deprivation.

message 14: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer Selene was about to roll out of the way, when she felt the device in her pocket. She wasn't sure if it was Alexander or her mom. Either way, she was distracted for just a half of second so by the time she was going to roll out of the way, it was too late. Selene grunted as his heel made contact with her pelvis. He was tough, but that was an understatement.

Screw it.

She didn't want to lose! The pain made her all the more inspired to beat him. She had been knocked back, but his momentum was still coming towards her, so she used it to grab his shirt and try for another strike at his right cheek.

message 15: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer ((sounds plausible enough, otherwise it would get way out of hand. ))

Raven hissed to herself once the girl pulled away, against Raven's will. It wasn't working. And that mean she had some magic in her. And if that was the case then she could get in some serious trouble real soon. She had to leave.

Max snapped out of everything, feeling completely normal, but breathing heavily from it all. Not that he didn't enjoy kissing her. He found it rather enjoyable, but now it was as though he was himself again and completely lost all at the same time.
"I'm so sorry. I'm confused it's like I just suddenly had this roller coaster of emotions and I can't decide if I'm angry or whatever..." He rambled.
"Someone playing with our emotions? Is that even possible?" He asked between breath. He pushed his hair out of his face. "What's going on?"

message 16: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer Selene wriggle furiously under him, trying to get some kind of edge over him, but it was useless. She knew it was over, her body was already starting to relax and she noticed her heavy breathing. She cussed under her breath, glaring at Raiden's stupid triumphant smirk. She wanted to do something, but she had to admit defeat. With a huff, she turned her face away from him.

"Fine you win. Now get off, something in my pocket buzzed." She groaned, just now starting to feel the points of impact where he had hit her. She knew her temple was bleeding, she would feel the blood dripping down her face. Her arms where she had been kicked would likely bruise as well as her pelvis, which was probably going to be a nasty one since it was right on the bone, not having much muscle to protect it from impact.

As soon as his grip loosened ever so slightly, she reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone. A message from Alexander.

"There's been an attack. Likely a demon. There's also something going on at the library downtown. Two young adults acting crazy... Not sure what that is, but maybe worth checking out." She stated. She felt a bit down, she had lost again and this time to the cocky newbie. Ashamed, she closed her eyes and tried to imagine what her mom would say.

message 17: by DragonDreamer (last edited Mar 02, 2012 04:52PM) (new)

DragonDreamer ((ya, I think that would be best to wait for Thera :) But if you'd rather go check out the library first, then that is fine with me as well. ))

'Not good enough' Were the words that really went through Selene's mind as she took Raiden's hand and pulled herself up. 'Disappointment' ran through her head as well. She could just see the look on her mother's face now, the mix of sadness and anger in her eyes that spoke for themselves I thought I taught you better than that.

Her eyes were glued to the ground when she replied, "Yeah, great spar." Though her words had little life to them. She sighed and looked over to where Azriel was. Azriel Nightshade of the well known Nightshade family, the sole heir. Sometimes Selene respected her a lot and other times she resented her for her natural talent and strength. It put Selene to shame. Her mother didn't accept it, so she certainly wouldn't. Still, all her work to beat Azriel in combat was pointless because she had Raiden to worry about now as well.

She crossed her arms, reading over the message again. A demon. She'd have to prove herself there if anything and honor the Mystreek family name and show she could fill in her mother's footsteps. She needed to rid herself of distractions. She could have avoided that kick had she not had her phone in her pocket or if she just simply ignored it.

message 18: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer ((r you going to rp alexander now or are we just going to assume he put it all in the message?))

message 19: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer Selene fixed her hair up into a tight bun then gathered her weapons, including her bow and Gabriel. She headed out the door swiftly, wanting to get to the mission.

"He said that the attack was in some old building on J and 126th street. I don't know if the attacker is still there or not, but we're going to want to hurry if we want to catch him and fight." She said. "And who knows how bad the damage is..." She said more softly, not wanting to know how many got hurt or are maybe still dying.

message 20: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer Selene waited at the front doors, leaning on the wall with her arms crossed, waiting for the others. She was staring at the ground, deep in though about her failures and wondering what they were going to run into headfirst. It was likely a demon and that was dangerous of course... but what if they fought an actual demon? And succeeded? What would her mother think? Would she smile and nod her head approvingly? It was doubtful, but a girl could dream.

Her hands glided over her bow absent-mindedly, remembering every niche and every curve of it. They were a signature weapon of her family. Those who are able to master the art of archery receive a specialized tattoo, unique to the family on the hand by which they pull the arrow. Each also made their own bow. She remembered when she went with her mom to make her own. She remembered the beautiful smile on her mothers face, the swelling pride she had for her only daughter. Selene hadn't seen that face for a while...

message 21: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer Selene was pulled by her train of thought when Raiden spoke.
"No." She replied simply. "Focused." She said. She wouldn't allow any more distractions. Not her phone nor him nor Azriel Nightshade were going to make her think about anything else other than this mission and completing it as quickly as possible.

Once Azriel arrived and gave her the nod that she was ready, Selene stepped out through the doors and onto the streets of New York. Mission time. She moved quickly through the streets, knowing the direction in which they needed to travel to get to the building. She just hoped that they weren't going to be too late.

message 22: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer ((I'm leaving in 5 min, so i'm not going to be on as often and if i post it's probably going to be a bit shorter... so ya :) just a heads up))

message 23: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer Selene nodded, pulling out her own stele. She took a short breath and began drawing on her arm quickly and concisely, biting back the pain that surged and shocked through her arm.

She returned her rune to its rightful pocket, then wiped away the rain that was dripping down her arms and face. She watched as Raiden offered some help to Azriel. She wondered if Azriel would accept it or blatantly refuse. Selene figured blatant refusal since she was so proud and tough, but she never knew. Whether she'd admit it or not, Selene thought that Azriel might be open to accepting Raiden. He wasn't what they were used to, but he was surprising and a challenge. Not to mention that he seemed to take a certain shine to Azriel as well. Selene shrugged it off and waited for Azriel to finish.

message 24: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer ((why does the rain hurt him?))

message 25: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer Selene rolled her eyes and ran after Raiden.
"May I remind you that you don't know where you are going!" She called after him, ignoring the bite of the rain as the droplets exploded on her face.

"Turn right here!" She said, taking the next right five blocks down.
"The building is going to be at that intersection with the stop signal." She said, racing to the building. It wasn't until she stood in front of it, completely still, that she felt the sense of creeping silence and dread to go inside and what might be waiting on the other side of the door.

message 26: by DragonDreamer (last edited Mar 03, 2012 10:24AM) (new)

DragonDreamer Selene gripped her hands tightly over her bow, gathering her courage. She nods, "Ready." And with that, she opened the door and headed in. It was completely quiet and all too still. She felt her heart beat quickly in anxiety. The first floor seemed empty. She walked around, constantly on guard, but moving very quickly. She proceeded to check the kitchen and living room.

"It's clear! I'm going to head up and check the bedrooms." She whispered loud enough for them to hear. She ran up the stairs what awaited her was the stench of death. She checked one door, entering to find two people that appeared asleep in bed. She crept closer and realized their eyes were open. She gasped, realizing they were dead. The sheets were stained with their blood.

message 27: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer Selene heard Raiden call down that everyone was dead. Everyone. How many could there have been? This was a massacre. What was going on? What was the point. She headed back to the first floor. How could any being do this? It was just horrible and deranged. She took a deep breath, pushing emotional weaknesses and distractions aside.

Whoever did this, they weren't there anymore and they were dead, so there was nothing for them to do. She went outside and leaned against the side of the building, trying to get the image of the surprised and horror-struck expression in the eyes of the bodies that she had found dead.

message 28: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer ((kk :) ))

message 29: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer Vampires... Selene realized she hadn't checked, though, their mouths were closed when she saw the couple in bed and she didn't want to touch them.
"What would have the motive to kill an entire coven?" She asked, thinking to herself really. "It had to be something smart and rational. It attack them in their sleep, so it didn't want a fight, it wanted to take lives. Werewolves generally have a dislike of the vampires, but this is not so bold and risky... It's clearly thought out. Maybe a Fey? Though I fail to see a motive. There is definitely the possibility of something still more sinister, but what would they want?" She thought to herself, crossing her arms, throwing herself deep into thought.

message 30: by DragonDreamer (last edited Mar 03, 2012 12:43PM) (new)

DragonDreamer "I have my thoughts..." Selene jumped in. She had been silent and introspective for the most part on the way back.
"That since we know no motives for the attacker to go after and kill every one of this specific coven, that perhaps its intents are in the reaction of, well, possibly us." She finished, clenching and unclenching her hands behind her back, unsure if this was correct or not.

"It's intent was smart and sinister and if we fail to react in the proper way, I think whatever it is might attack again." Her arms were crossed over her chest and her bow was now slung back over her back.

message 31: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer "We should, but I think we should interject all plausible deductions that we have. I just hope they don't react too drastically." Selene commented, letting her eyes wander around the room from the carpet to the walls to the furniture to the ceiling, figuring there wasn't much more than she could do.

message 32: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer "We still haven't gone by the library." Selene suggested with a shrug. She had been wondering the same, though she doubted if it was anything too serious. They probably wouldn't even need their full gear. A couple of people going wacky was probably on the account of a faerie... usually was, but those kind were just having fun rather than causing actual harm.

"It would be something to do until we get another lead on the case." She said. It was either this or training, and with how bad she was doing with that, she'd take on a faerie any day.

message 33: by DragonDreamer (last edited Mar 03, 2012 01:34PM) (new)

DragonDreamer Selene ran up to her room and pulled off her clothes, throwing them around her room, not really bothering to keep them neat or tidy.

She rinsed off the sweat in the shower real quick and dried off then changed into some more casual clothes, keeping her black pants, which were tight enough to not catch too much air resistance, but stretchy enough that she could move in them. She them put on a loose, dark blue long sleeved shirt, she kept her black shoes and left her bow in the corner of her room, only taking a dagger with her.

She pulled her hair back into a long single braid as she was running back to the door. It would seem that Raiden was already waiting patiently.

message 34: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer Selene took note of Raiden's slight laughed to himself after he looked up at her. She frowned, feeling as though he was laughing at her. Was it her outfit? She at least thought she looked normal-ish.

"What? Do I look silly or something?" She asked, crossing her arms. She noticed his small holster on his wrist. That was pretty inventive and she wondered if everyone down in Atlanta had those, so she asked.

"Where did you get that?" She asked, looking it over to try and figure out how it worked.

message 35: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer ((ok what is a gauntlet? cuz every time you say it, I keep thinking like a giant cup, which it obviously isn't. that would be a goblet...))

Selene admired the gadget a little longer. "It's nifty." She complimented casually. When she heard Azriel coming she looked up and nodded "Let's head out" She said, heading out the door.

She wondered what kind of trouble the fey was causing in the library...

((should we skip the whole traveling thing and just get them there?))

message 36: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer ((kk then :) ))

Coming up to the library, Selene didn't notice anything unusual, but once she was inside, there seemed to be two people looking at each other. The boy looked incredibly conflicted, not sure whether to attack or kiss the girl in front of him.

The girl on the other hand, seemed to just be getting control over herself and apologizing for her earlier behavior. Selene could only focus on them a moment because they weren't the primary concern, which was the fey. She tried looking among the people. It was difficult since, first of all the library was quite crowded, and second, the people had drawn a lot of attention...

message 37: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer Raven had been just about to make things a little bit more interesting, having him attack the girl. Now that she was becoming more resistant, Raven wasn't too fond of her. She glanced at the door for just a moment and realized that some shadowhunters had entered the library. She recognized the two girls. She'd seen them around town before, but not the new boy. Her lips curled delightedly as she tried to blend in with the crowd, crouching enough, that it wasn't completely obvious how tall she was.

message 38: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer Selene noticed who Raiden was pointing out. The girl had reddish blonde hair with dark, twinkling eyes. Her skin was so pale and fair, she looked porcelain. Definitely otherworldly looking. Not to mention she could tell that the being was watching them.

"Confirmed. Let's do this." Selene spoke, making her way towards the girl.

Raven's eyes hardened. She wouldn't go down without a fight. She turned her attention to Max, willing him to catch sight of her, then the shadow hunters. The boy was suddenly looking horrified and paranoid. He started making his way towards Raven. And her towards him. She needed a human shield.

message 39: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer Selene made her way quickly to the boy, needing to snap him out of the girl's control. Though by the time she had reached him, he looked about ready to strike Selene down.
"Hey, calm down. Think. Why are you angry?"
"I'm not angry. I just know you're not up to any good." He glared, approaching her. Selene suddenly had a great idea.
"You look like you want to fight me... you should come outside and see what I've got." She challenged, retreating, trying to draw him away.
"And leave the others to attack that poor girl?"
"They'll come too. We don't want any trouble."
"But I know you do."
"How?"
"I-I don't know. It's just a feeling."
"Listen. Your emotions are being controlled right now. We need to get you out of here." She said low so as not to draw a lot of attention. The boy looked conflicted, an internal struggle going on in his mind.

message 40: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer ((can a fey's power work on shadowhunters?))

message 41: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer ((kk that works))
Raven wasn't a fool. She knew the boy was a shadowhunter and he might very well cut her into pieces for all she knew. Shadowhunters were the worst kind of scum in her eyes. She had heard that her entire clan had been taken out by them and she wasn't ready to forgive just yet. Still, she could always play the innocent card.

A hurt and scared expression came into her eyes and features. "Please don't hurt me. I didn't hurt anyone..." She spoke softly in that melodic, hypnotizing voice of hers. She tried to use her powers to make the blond boy both be attracted to her as well as pity her, which she has learned can be quite powerful when used correctly.

message 42: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer ((haha, yeah, that was my dilemma cuz I don't want her to get killed or anything))
When he had said she didn't need to worry, she gave a small gasp and wrapped her arms around him, nestling her face into the crook of his neck, clinging to him like he was her only life line. "My savior..." She whispered.

She had him. She must have gotten a lucky break because most shadowhunters were trained against her powers... though maybe... maybe he actually took pity on her? No, that wasn't likely. It was her powers talking through his mouth. She knew it because he called her beautiful.

She smiled sweetly up at him. "You're so handsome..." She stroked his cheek. "Such a handsome southern boy. You have the beauty of a greek statue."

message 43: by DragonDreamer (new)

DragonDreamer Raven giggled softly at his comment about his looks and the girls not finding him. "I guess they just can't appreciate you like I can." He cheeks flushed and she looked away. "I'm sorry. That was too forward of me." She said acting embarrassed. "I just don't know what's coming over me. I really like you." She leaned up, as though about to kiss him.

The boy that Selene was helping seemed to be back to normal. Still a bit confused. She told him to wait for her outside, so he left the room as she instructed. With him out of the way, she looked around for the Fey, which she found quite easily because Raiden was about to kiss her. Wait, what?!

Selene made her way over to them, making sure no one was really paying attention when she began trying to tear the girl away from Raiden. "Just what do you think you are doing?!" She hissed under her breath. Raven whimpered under her grasp, her eyes tearing up.

DragonDreamer Selene scowled. "IT's a Fey. We need to take her out. THAT's what we came here to do. We don't want to make a scene." She could see it in his eyes that he was bent on protecting her.

"She's just using you! Like she was going to use that other boy, Max. She's a Fey, that's what she does." She argued. She was starting to get worked up. Couldn't he see what was happening? What could she do now.

Selene glared back at Raiden, reaching for her dagger. "Raiden. Think. You don't even know her name."
Raven glared up at her, but turned to Raiden with a look of affection and admiration in her eyes. "Raiden is my savior. He doesn't need to. But," She kissed his neck. "If he wanted to know, I would tell him my name is Raven."
Selene scoffed. "Fitting because it's as black as your heart."

DragonDreamer ((I have to leave in half an hour and then I will be back about an hour after that))

DragonDreamer "Ugh! Snap out of it!" Selene growled and for the second time that day, she grabbed the boy by the front of his shirt and, for the third time that day, clocked him with her right fist across the face.

Raven was shocked, thinking that the girl would attack her first. She lost concentration on Raiden's emotions and, angered, tackled Selene into the rows of bookshelves, where onlookers would be unable to see them.

During this inconvenient moment, Selene's phone rang a familiar tune. It was her mother. Raven's eyes looked wild and her hands swiftly grabbed the phone that had fallen from the girl's pocket.

"Hello?"
"Selene? Shouldn't you be training or out on a mission? I thought I'd just leave a voice mail but since you are so irresponsible... I am so disappointed-" The angry woman's voice cut off as Raven closed the phone and chucked it at Selene, a mischievous smile on her lips.

((what kind of weapon would a faerie have?))

DragonDreamer Insane panic surged through Selene, bringing her to the point that she couldn't even move. It was only when she felt the knife at her throat and her back did she realize it was because of Raven. She cursed.

"I walk out here unharmed or she doesn't walk out of here at all, alright?" She hissed at them, not so pretty now with her glares and scowls.

Selene tried to struggle out of it and fight back, but the bite of the blade on her neck made her stop, her face paled when thought of someone. Her mother. What would she think? Her angered, disappointed image appeared in her mind, sucking all hope and happiness from her. Selene swallowed, biting her tongue to hold back the tears and shame. She was useless and lame. She didn't know what to do anymore. Her mood worsened and she became more and more depressed and completely immobile.

Raven smiled, her work done, she tossed the girl at the others to stall them while she made like a banana and split((:P)). She ran around the bookshelves and escaped out into the alleyways of New York.

DragonDreamer Selene wanted someone to punch her. To beat her to a pulp without a second thought. This was all her fault. She screwed up everything and she couldn't excuse herself for it. She hated herself right now and wanted to lock herself in the training room until she could actually do something useful.

Raiden returned and announced that the fey had escaped. She would have apologized, but the words couldn't have even amounted to what she felt at the moment. She had her arms crossed and her head down. "I'll tell Alexander... We should head back." She spoke, doing her best to keep her voice even and clear.

She decided that she would tell her mother when she returned as well. Nothing so inspirational as a little verbal abuse to get you back up on the horse.

She headed out of the library and ran into the boy Max that she had gotten out of harms way earlier. She was going to just keep walking down the street, but he stopped her.
"Hey! Wait, Miss!"
She stopped and turned to face him.
"I-um-I'm not quite sure what happened in there, but somehow, you got me thinking clearly again and I'm grateful." He smiled.
"Please. It was nothing." She waved it off, meaning every word. It wasn't praise worthy in the slightest.
"Anyways, this sounds really weird, but somehow... I think I might need your help in the future with some research I'm doing."
"I don't know-"
"Listen, here's my number. If you're interested in helping me out or just hanging out, give me a call. I have class in a little bit so I need to go. I hope to hear from you soon."
Selene shrugged, pocketing the piece of paper he handed to her, thinking nothing of it. She continued her walk back to the enclave.

DragonDreamer Selene scowled at him. "It was just because he's doing some research. It's not like he was interested." She rolled her eyes, appreciating the joke, but not in the mood to smile.

She didn't think he needed to blame himself so much. He hadn't had as much experience with Fair people as she had. "It's not like you knew any better. We shouldn't have come in here underestimating their power, but I shouldn't have been held against you guys. I should've been able to get away." She sighed. She couldn't dwell on it now, there was no point.
"Let's just head back." She suggested, beginning to walk down the street.

DragonDreamer ((yes :)))

Selene opened the door and entered the the institute. She didn't see Alexander anywhere, so she figured that they would talk to him whenever he found them.

She felt like going to her room and sleeping for the rest of the day, but she knew that wasn't acceptable. She rolled her neck to stretch it out. She finally remembered the cut when she felt the stinging sensation of the wound being exposed and expanded. She flinched and excused herself.
"I should clean this up. I'll head to the training room in a little bit." She said softly.

She bandaged and cleaned herself up and changed her shirt to something more suited for training before actually headed for the training room. She started with the punching bag, feeling the need to hit something really hard. The only problem was that it didn't bleed or break.
