The Magic Laptop Ride

Hi Folks,

This is a blatent bribe giveaway to get you to read my first book the Navigator, basically it is a collection of short sci fi and war stories with a scattering of journalistic pieces, I have decided to treat the Magic Laptop Ride as an evolving platform so quite randomly work will be added to it over time. One word of warning as the book isn't suitable for the under 18's. but if you are older than that then enjoy it, and feel free to write an honest review about it.

Karen, there's a program called Calibre that will convert any eBook format from one to another (or create any format from a .pdf or filtered HTML file.)

I was being cagey, I suppose. I have the book in .epub form, and until recently it was available in the Nook Store and on Smashwords. But I reluctantly decided that I needed to give KDP Select a try, despite the exclusivity requirement. I will still send the .epub to reviewers, but am otherwise not distributing it while I'm in KDP Select.

How is KDP select working out? I keep trying to figure out whether it's a good deal or not.

Well, after being essentially dead in the water despite good reviews, Twin-Bred is currently #564 in the free Kindle store and #21 in the free Kindle science fiction store. :-) What this will mean when it goes back up to $2.99 is anyone's guess. Ellen Ghyll's hilarious novel Chicken Feed started having steady, though not stratospheric, sales after a similar experience, so I'm crossing my fingers.

That sounds pretty good. Hopefully you'll get a piece of the universal KDP monthly pot. I just downloaded Twin-Bred. Will have to check out Chicken Feed. Good luck! Give us an update at the end of 90 days!

My first book the Navigator will be available free at smashwords.com for one week, between 4-03-2012-10-03-2012. Thats Sunday to saturday this week, since its available on most e formats you shouldn't have any problems getting a copy for your reader/computer/mobile phone/ cybernetic bedtime story telling droid toy piglet! LOL You will get that joke when you read it.

Have u you got a light? A week ago before I took to the nicotiene patches I would have loved this but my adiction addled brain couldn't cope right now which is a shame because it sounds really good. ;-)

And in fact I did. Plus another one that looked interesting when I previewed it. I was tempted to go mad and fill my virtual basket (I can't believe how many people write science-fiction!), but I want to make sure I get around to reading them sooner rather than later.
