Stranded discussion

Roleplay at a river here.

Mina blinked open her eyes painfully. The sound of a calm river came from beside her. Painfully, she pushed herself into a sitting position. Sounds of animals came from the grass around her. One of her pony tails had fallen out. Slowly, she put it back up. Then she looked around. Where am I...? she thought.
"Akira-kun...?" she called warily.

"Akira-kun!" Mina's voice began to rise. Panic flooded through her as she stood up. "Akira-kun! Onii-chan!!" she yelled, then coughed because of her dry throat. She kneeled down and looked at the river water warily. Then she cupped her hands and drank a bit of the water.
Staring at her reflection, she realized her face was covered in dry and fresh blood. She began to wash some off with the water. A large cut ran up her right arm and disappeared down the back of her shirt that was slightly ripped. It still hurt.
Mina washed the cut, careful not to fall in the river.

Adella walked arrived at the river. This island was huge. Her ears perked up as she heard some voices. "Akira-kun, I found someone!" She approached the girl cautiously are you "Mina-chan??" she asked.

Seto was with them, trailing quietly behind. He glanced at the girl. She resembled Akira. He crouched down next to her, tore off his sleeve, and began to wrap her cut.

Mina looked up, her eyes scared. "Ow!" she sucked in a breath and yanked her arm back from the boy.


Akira ran forward. "Mina-chan!" he gasped, wrapping his arms around his little sister and hugging her.
"Onii-chan!" Mina gasped, pushing him away slightly. "Ow!" she sucked in another breath. Akira let go and helped her up. Mina grabbed his arm and held onto it, looking at the others. Akira felt relief wash over him and smiled.

Seto flinched. "Sorry," he said. "But it will get infected if its not covered."

Mina watched him for a moment with unreadable eyes, but with the tiniest flicker of fear. "Oh...Alright." she said in a shy, quiet voice, holding out her injured arm.

Seto nodded and took hold of her arm gently. He started to wrap it again, gentler this time. "There you go," he said and smiled warmly at her.

"Thanks." Mina said in the same soft tone, and returned to holding onto Akira.
"We should find a place to rest until morning. It seems like it's getting late." Akira said, looking up at the darkening sky.

Seto nodded. He looked around. "I'd say this is a fine place," he replied. "I mean with the river right there. . ."

"Yeah, I guess it is. And the light covering of trees should shield us in case it rains." he said.

Arisa nodded. "How would we know how to set up camp if we don't know what we're protecting us from?" she suggested. "I wanna see what's out there."

"We can explore in the morning." Akira told her. He kneeled down, feeling the grass. It was soft, but not very soft. He looked around, seeing some moss growing on the trees. "Mina, can you collect some moss?" he asked. She nodded, hurrying over and pulling the moss off the trees.

Arisa put some water and atowel she had and pressed it on her neck injury. It burned and she winced in pain. Is it that bad??

"I'll find some sticks for firewood and soem rocks to make a firepit." Akira said, turning and walking into the trees, disappearing quickly.

Arisa nodded. How will we get home anyway? That is.. if we ever go home? Her eyebrows knitted with worry. She let out a shriek of anger and kicked the ground. "Stupid plane."

Mina looked up from where she was making a pile of moss. "Hurting the ground won't help." she murmured, then turned back to what she was doing.

She kept he eyes on the ground and then sighed. "No. I guess it doesn't."

Mina kept working. "Maybe you can fill up some bottles or something with water." she suggested quietly.

Akira ran back into the clearing, Mariya right behind him. "Get in the river!! NOW!!!!!" he yelled, pushing Mariya into the river. Mariya struggled to keep his pack above the water to keeps his computer dry. Luckily, the pack was waterproof, but he didn't want to take any chances.
"Mina, GET IN THE RIVER!!!!!!!" Akira shouted. Mina yelped, jumping in the river without protest. She struggled to stay afloat with her short size.
"You too, Arisa!" Akira ordered.

Seto flinched. "What's happening?" he asked.

"What the hell?" she looked around trying to understand. she didn't take any more hesitations and jumped in.

Seto shrugged and joined the group in the river. Whatever it was must be urgent. He stayed near Mina to help the small girl keep her head above water.

Akira jumped in after them, just as a huge bird, about a tree tall ran into the clearing, cawing and shrieking.
"Get down everyone! Don't let it see you!" Akira whispered fiercely. Mina's eyes grew huge and fearful.
"What is that?!" she squeaked.
"A diatryma..." Mariya whispered.

Suddenly a boy came running after the creature, "Hey! Give me back my bag! I need that!" he yelled, then threw a rock at it only to hit it dead on, catching his bag when it was dropped. Kakeru winced at the pain in his injured shoulder, a long gash from it to the small of his back. It was still bleeding, and it didn't look good.

Seto leapt at the creature while it was distracted. He kicked it in the face and sent it flying. It landed hard, not moving. "Come here," he commanded Kakeru. He tore his other sleeve off to fashion into a large bandage for Kakeru. He dragged Kakeru to the river, washed the injruy, and wrapped it tightly.

Kakeru winced and sighed, then felt his head spin. He groaned and held his head, an ugly bruise on his head. "Am I supposed to feel dizzy if I hit my head?" he asked tiredly, yawning.

Seto nodded. "Sounds about right," he said. "Here sit down and have a drink." He led him over to a boulder and had him sit on it. Then he went over to the creature, made sure it would never rise again, whispered, "I wonder if we can eat this," and went about searching for something to put water in for Kakeru to drink.

"I wouldn't eat it if I were you, it doesn't look very good. If we were to eat it though, I don't think I'd have an easy time cooking it," he closed his eyes and leaned back against the rock, trying to ignore the pain in his back and side.

Akira eyed Kekeru. He knew this kid and knew he was aggressive. He climbed out of the river and helped Mira up as the bird ran off.
"I want you to stay away from that guy, ok Mina?" he whispered so nobody would overhear. She hesitated, then nodded. Akira turned and helped Arisa out of the chilly river.

Seto nodded. "I suppose. . ." his voice trailed off. He pulled a large leaf off of a plant. "Here," he handed it to Kakeru. "Use that to get some water."

Kakeru nodded and got up, but doubled over as pain burned in his side. Blood poured to the ground as he coughed, but had moved to get water. He drank some using the leaf, but it hurt his throat to swallow anything.

Seto knelt next to him and rubbed his throat to coax the water down. "Better?" he asked. "Are you sick or just injured?"

After helping Arisa and Mariya out of the water, Akira turned to Kakeru. "You're Kakeru right? Of class 3-2?" he asked.

"Yeah, so what?" he then looked at Seto and nodded slightly, "I don't know, I just-" he was cut of when his eyes went wide and he vomited, blood tapping the ground as he breathed heavily.

Seto rubbed his back gently. "It's okay," he soothed.

Akira struggled not to roll his eyes. "Mina, come with me. We'll find some herbs if we can." he announced, and the two walked into the forest, being sure to stay close.

"Great idea, we'll stay here, be careful!" he called after Akira.

Kakeru opened his eyes, "I'm fine, just dizzy," he fell to his knees and sighed, hanging his head painfully.

Seto nodded. "Just stay still," he said. "I'm going to light a fire."

Akira and Mina came back after a while. Akira carried some firewood and Mina carried a few berries. Akira dumped the wood by Seto while Mina brought the berries over to the new guy. Without looking at him she said, "I think these are juniper berries. They are supposed to help with sick stomaches." her voice was soft and quiet as usual and she put the berries down and ran back to Akira.

Kakeru nodded and laid down on the ground, curling up and closing his eyes before he fell asleep. He had a large cut on his torso, one on his side running vertically from his hip up to his ribs, then one right in the middle of it running horizontal from his back across his stomach.

Seto lit the fire. Then he moved over to the creature and took out a pocket knife. He cut off a little of its flesh and brought it over to the fire, to see how well it would cook.

Mariya sat down against a rock, getting out his computer and opening it. He opened his encyclopedia of animals, reading as his eyes widened.

When Kakeru woke back up he ate the berries, waiting for them to take effect. He closed his eyes and sat up with his back against a rock, then opened them when he felt warmth, going over and sitting beside Seto by the fire, "That looks disgusting," was all he said, watching the meat cook.

"But if it is edible who cares," Seto shrugged. "We have to survive until we can get rescued."

"Well why not try cooking it with some herbs? A woman taught me when she took me off the streets 3 years back," he said, and Kakeru looked at Seto with a blank expression, "But because of everything I've done, no one will talk to me..."

Seto smiled widely at him. "I'd love to talk with you more," he said. "So how do you cook with herbs? I've never cooked much really."

Kakeru seemed to blush slightly, but quickly got up and went over to grab his bag. He brought it over and took out some basil, sprinkling it over the meat, "We'll I just let the flavor of the herbs sink into the meat, it tastes pretty good."
