Yesterday was a rough day for me. Locally,we had a shooting at a high school about 30 miles away in the next county. 1 student passed yesterday, another this morning. 1 is still critical, 1 serious, 1 stable. The gunman, an teen, is in custody. Where this happened, I have a cousin who is a first responder and I have other family in the general area, so my concern for them is high.
On a side note, my personal day was put into chaos by the internet being down at my direct branch of the library,so I had to travel to another branch to use the computes so that I could look for a job and do my homework. So all in all, a little rattled yesterday.
So where comes in the happiness? Read on.
When I got home, I found a package on my front porch from a friend of mine who lives out of state in S.C. The box was not too big, but heavy. Inside were 3 bags of milk chocolate chips, 1 bag white chips, 1 bag butterscotch chips, a 4 oz. bag of mixed dried fruit (gold raisins, cherries,and cranberries), a small bag of shelled walnuts (according to the bag it's 1 c.) 2 bags of Craisins, original flavor and blueberry and one set of temp. tattoos.
It was just what I needed. We are having a bake sale at my church on Election Day, something we usually do,but this year we are hoping to deflect part of our $35,000 debt and now I have even more materials to make more cookies,so all around big happy.
I get to bake as therapy, and give to a good cause.
