Amber (lovtoread) | 7 comments I just finished reading The Rose Garden by Susanna Kearsley. I really loved the story line and the imagery she created...but I was a little upset by how many times she used God and Jesus Christ as swearing-it was in there atleast 15 times, so I just wanted to give anyone a heads up if that bothers them. Also, I was so bugged that there was an implied sex scene-it was behind closed doors which I totally appreciate the author for doing that, but they weren't married and I just felt like the story would have been fine without that. Those two things made me not love the story-they just distracted me from loving it. I loved her style of writing though, are all Susanna Kearsley's books in that style of writing?

Cassandra Bowers (cassiebowers) | 6 comments I also just read the Rose Garden and I felt exactly the same way that you did. Shortly after the closed door sex scene, they get married. Why didn't they just get married first? I also read one of her other books called The Winter Sea and was similarly disappointed.
