Point of Origin question

Hello, I'm reading this novel for my ISU (Independent Study Unit), and I'm just wondering what are some other opinions on the Literary Devices found in this novel.

I'm currently going with Social Commentary and Characterization, but I'm not too certain about the characterization part, if you have any other examples or ideas, let me know!
