Ten Little Caterpillars by Bill Martin, Jr
Picture book. A visually appealing book to use in lieu of The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Belly UpBelly Up by Stuart Gibbs [Children GIB]
This children’s book is a hilarious mystery staring 12 year old Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt Fitzroy, who is attempting to solve the murder of Henry the Hippo at the FunJungle. It would make for a good recommendation for a reluctant reader because of the short chapters. A Mark Twain Award Nominee. Very fun!
A Ball for Daisy by Chris RausckaGreat wordless book for children of all ages. Beautifully drawn and emotionally evocative and appealing. 2012 Caldecott winner, too!
Cheryl wrote: "Over and Under the Snow"Winter animals beautifully depicted under the snow while girl and her father walk over the snow and discuss winter's changes. Somewhat monochromatic (not recommended for very young).
