March 2012 Readathon
Ugh, this starts right after my spring break is over! I'm coming back from my vacation after the readathon starts, so I don't think I'll be able to read a lot. I'll set my goal a little bit later...
I'll try it by participating this month in both readathons.Goal for Mar 17th - Mar 23rd: 40 hrs and 1200 Pages
Good luck to everyone!!!Aneeqah- Darn :( We don't even have Spring Break here until April this year.
I am going to set a 24-hour reading goal. Which will equate to 4 hours a day for 6 out of the 7 days. I have a pile of library books that came in all at the same time that I would like to get through by the end of the month. So an hour goal will keep me better goal-oriented. =)I do plan on keeping track of pages, too. But I need the dedicated, set aside time to get through these hefty books.
Library Books that need to be read soon (a list of potential reads for this read-a-thon)
and a re-read of
before the midnight movie premiere!Phew. =)
Good luck, Jennifer Leigh! :DMy friends and I are going to a showing that night, because we'll have school that Friday morning lol.
I am going for hopefully 3-4 books and 500 pages. I think I will be able to do this. I am going to try to finish at least 3 books this week. Considering they are all books I have already started I don't think that should be a problem.
I'm going for three books during the readathon: 1 fiction / literature, 1 "mind candy" / beach read, and 1 nonfiction.:)
I'm in! I will pick a day for the 24 hour challenge when the kids are at their friends' houses! Probably next Saturday and will try for at least 2 books that day and 5 during the month of March!
I have several partial reads to finish and some library books that need to go back soon. I will keep working on those. My goal is to read 1,000 pages during the week.
Week-Long Readathon:1400 pages, 4 books, 14 hours
Day-Long Readathon:
450 pages, 1 book, 4 hours
Books:
I'm in! I will have a ton of time that week to read.I have 16 books in my March 2012 reading collection on my Kindle so I'm going to aim for 6 books for the week.
Woo Hoo! perfect week for me to have a read-a-thon. I'm aiming for 6 books to read since I have 16 left in my March folder on my Kindle.
I just realized that on Saturday and Sunday I will probably not read anything since I will be doing two 8 hour turnarounds back to back so I will probably do my readathon Monday to Sunday
This is actually GOOD timing for me if we are counting audio books since I have a 12hou drive starting tonight....can we count audio books???
So excited for midnight to get here!!!! I'm going to try and stay up at least until 1 just to get an early start lol :). Good luck, everyone!***March Goals: 4 books, 750 pages***

Technically the drive should be 10 and a half hours but with stops and the baby it takes a lot longer
I'm going to try to read enough books to get my lifetime page count over 300,000 pages. So, finishing enough books to make about 3500 pages or so.
Lori you can count it how I do. I still count it as one book. However when I add it in I only count the amount of hours/minutes I have listened to. With that I don't add pages for those books.
Lori wrote: "If you can count audio books, Zakiya How would that work?"A lot of people just use the Goodreads default edition of the book for page count. In other words, if you run a search for a book, the first edition that comes up is the default edition. People just use that edition's page count.

Oh okay; well, that's understandable :). Have a good time!
It's too bad I just finished my book at the stroke of midnight, and now I need to write the review because I work all day tomorrow so I won't read much before sleep. But tomorrow is a new day! =D
I am currently at work right now taking a quick break. But for some reason the book on my phone isn't opening properly. I will try again here in a little bit. I will probably really start getting into a flow later this week.
As soon as the clock struck midnight (CST), I started reading The Fault in Our Stars, which a friend at school is letting me borrow. It's soo good so far! I'm addicted :). I should have it done either today or tomorrow. About to continue reading Sapphique.
I'm going to start Pandemonium as my first book today! Hopefully, I'll have enough time to finish it today, and start my reread of Hex Hall tomorrow. =)Good luck to everybody!!
So far I've had a good reading day!I'm halfway with my reading goal of 450 pages, nearly halfway with my goal of 4 hours and also I'm just under halfway with my goal of reading one book. So far, so good :)
Hope everybody else is getting on well with their goals!
Completed Books:The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (177-374 pages. 197 pages for readathon)
Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins 391 pages
Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

So far, so good for today! Finished the last 150 pages of My Very UnFairy Tale Life last night (after midnight) and read The Walking Dead, Vol. 5: The Best Defense today.Just started OyMG and have a few others that I could get started today as well.
I would probably be close to done with The Fault in Our Stars, but I fell asleep while I was reading lol. So far today I've got 139 pages for today, so hopefully I'll be able to reach my goal of 250 before midnight.Great reading, everyone!!!

Week-long Readathon: Mar 17th (12 am) thru Mar 23rd (11:59 pm)
Day-long Readathon: Mar 17th (12 am - 11:59 pm)
Rules:
~Just have fun!
Breaking It Down:
~You can read towards a goal of books, pages, hours, or any combination of the three. Aim for what will help you with challenges, or make a goal that IS a challenge!
~~You can keep track of what you read by writing the exact minutes down on paper, like I do, or you can just estimate from the time you start reading to the time you stop and write that down. Either way is up to you.
~This will be the topic where you can post your reading progress and discuss with others about what they're reading.
~At the end of the day-long readathon, I will have a Summary topic up and running so those of you that only do the Day-long can go ahead and post your summaries.
