Esther (eshchory) Not bad so far but I'm about to slide back to base camp as I have just visited the library!

Welcome to the climb, Esther! I don't visit the library as often, now that my daughter is in college. :(

Dawn (& Ron) (furryreaders) | 456 comments Your off to a great start, Esther!

Ron and I both enjoyed Witchling, will you be doing a review?

Hi, Esther! Happy climbing!

message 12: by Esther (new)

Esther (eshchory) Thanks for all the encouragement. I'll be having a slow month as I normally read on the train but this month I'll be commuting by bus so no reading.

I'm trying to catch up on my reviews so hopefully yes in the near future.

Esther (eshchory) March:
The Hunger Games
First Drop of Crimson

Challenge Total: 8

March has been a weak month. Normally I read on my train commute but for various reasons I had to take the bus this month and travel sickness prevents me from reading. The lack of reading is actually beginning to affect my mood.

It's true... when I can't read regularly, even if it's only a few pages a day, I get really cranky! Some people meditate or do yoga, I have to read.

message 15: by Esther (new)

Esther (eshchory) I've been back to reading on my commute for a week and am feeling so much better.
And I've already finished a book.

Esther (eshchory) April:
It's Kind of a Funny Story
Catching Fire
Mockingjay
Clarity

Challenge Total: 12

April I managed to get back into the swing of things an enjoyed all the books I read especially Catching Fire and Mockingjay. My daughter has already read those but I will be recommending Clarity to her.

Yep, totally agree. It tends to center and ground me.

Esther (eshchory) May:
The Magicians

Challenge Total: 13

A book that took ages to read and I didn't really enjoy it.

edited to add - I'm not superstitious but unlucky number 13?

message 19: by Esther (last edited Sep 30, 2012 09:47PM) (new)

Esther (eshchory) June:
Touched by an Alien
Almost to Die For
Shade
Pixie Dust

Challenge Total: 17

Yes it has been paranormal June. And a little disappointing.
I had expected Touched by an Alien to be funnier but it was just a decent urban fantasy.
However Shade was much more than I expected.

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

That's something good, then.

June is always a low reading month for me, too many things to do and more family time, etc. You, instead, are moving right along!

message 21: by Esther (new)

Esther (eshchory) July and August were tough months. The railways is a mess of repairs so I am travelling by bus = no reading. In addition July had the distractions of the Olympics and a knitting challenge. August was just chaos.
And my book choices didn't help much either.

July: Flirt
August:
The Unbreakable Child: A Memoir About Forgiving the Unforgivable

Challenge Total: 19

message 22: by Esther (new)

Esther (eshchory) September, despite the craziness of the New Year holiday has been better for my reading.

September :
The Devil's Playground
Neuromancer

Challenge Total: 21

message 23: by Esther (last edited Dec 14, 2012 04:48AM) (new)

Esther (eshchory) October: the railways is in repairs yet again so no reading on my commute.

Winging It: A Memoir of Caring for a Vengeful Parrot Who's Determined to Kill Me
Spider's Bite

Challenge Total: 23

message 24: by Esther (last edited Dec 14, 2012 04:49AM) (new)

Esther (eshchory) November: still bus-ing my commute and beginning to feel the lack of reading. Only one book read and not from my TBR!!!!

Challenge Total: 23

message 25: by Esther (last edited Dec 14, 2012 04:54AM) (new)

Esther (eshchory) December: finally back to the train and reading at least 1 hour a day

Leviathan
Vampire Academy

Challenge Total: 25
Yes I have made it.
I plant my flag and declare myself a winner!!

ETA Because I realised The Revenant is an ARC but I still won, so no problem.
