Text-to-Speech

How to use the above link in conjunction with the SOA site: http://www.sonsofavalon.com
1. If you run across a character’s name that you are unsure of the pronunciation, first make a note of the name.
2. Go to the SOA site, and click the "Allies and Adversaries" button/link: http://www.sonsofavalon.com/soa_peopl...
3. Scroll through the character’s names until you find the one you wish to hear, and copy the name
4. Next, open the link to the Text to Speech page: http://www.acapela-group.com/text-to-...
5. Select the “voice” you wish the word to be spoken in (I personally like the “English (UK) Graham" voice)
6. Paste the Character's name into the Text box
7. Click on "Say It

Well some of the last parts of the book are ... rather "dark." There is a lot of historical fact...and they do call it the Dark Ages, shrug.
What chapter are you on?

I FINISHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!IT WAS SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And that's not as fast as I usually read. I would have finished it a couple days ago if it weren't for the finals, they started today, and I had to study. Poor Ambrosious (I think thats how you spell it sorry if im wrong)
Dee wrote: "Text-to-Speech"Funny you should bring that up. When I was struggling in an effort to spell the word Riyria, I knew how I wanted it to sound, but I also had in my head how I wanted the word to look on the page because lots of readers just register it visually and move on.
I spelled Riyria several ways and asked random people how they would pronounce it. Then settled on the present spelling. A few days afterwards I noticed there was a speech button on WordWeb. I typed Riyria in and pressed it, and lo and behold! The computer pronounced it just as I wanted. I was so happy.
BTW--my favorite part of Sons was Dee's reasoning behind why, after Ambrosias death, Merlin and Uther stayed together—-the idea that because they both loved him, between them they were able to sustain part of Ambrosias. I thought this was wonderful, unexpected, thoughtful and yet very believable on a truly emotional level.

Hey Michael,
Thanks for the kind words about SOA. Please feel free to post your thoughts to Amazon.com :]
As to the text to speech. I don't know why the above link is not working. Not sure if it is my browser (just upgraded to IE7) or if it is my new OS (new computer is Vista). It worked great on XP and IE 6, pout.
I will have to see if I can find another program, thanks for the heads up.
I am looking forward to reading, reviewing, and promoting your second novel...Bring it :]
Have a great week,
Dee Marie

OK, here is one that works...you just have to wait for the demo guy to stop talking and then insert your text into the Try TT Demo box.

lol Dee, ha ha ha. demo guy!! sweet!!!I fully agree with Micheal too, that was one of my favorite parts also. Another one was when Merlin knocked some sense into Uther, so he would stop whining so to speak.
Hey Jade,
Yeah, I liked that part too. Merlin REALLY surprised me with that scene. Until that moment, he was always rather intimidated by Uther.
With the exception of the "wine toss" scene...which is still my all time favorite :]

I like Merlin's "spunk" although he did tend to be somewhat of a moody boy...But, he did have the weight of his world on his shoulders.
I found it comforting that even medieval teens experienced teen-angst :]
