"what the hell am I doing in California" he said.
"Except I'm here because of her anyway!"
Three passers by started gawking at him like they've never seen an alien take off his shirt before!
They all smile like idiot, that can't believe their luck, probably thinking He noticed ME!
I hate this place, too crowded. he thought. Although Kat would look hot in this heat!
"Snap out of it dickhead!" Dee shouted at him. "We're not here to flirt with the public!"

"We're here because, we need to find Kat..."she reminded him. "Of course we wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the crap you threw at her!"

He sighed. "Fine, any ideas where to start looking?"
"Well, this was her home town, not sure why the beach seemed like the best idea."

"Daemon! Shut up! This isn't my fault, so stop giving me shit with your sarcasm!" she blew at her front hairs in agitation.
"Give me a hand out here! What have I been telling you, if have an idea. Say so!!!"

She gave him the I-know-you-ate-my-icecream-look.

The answer message came on "Daemon I know that's you, and no I haven't forgiven you! So, get lost dickhead!!" Oh! She's angry...
"How many more times are you going to do that?" Dee asked.
"I think I'm going to throw up!! and you don't want hear about my virginity issues?"
"Whatever. So, where to next."
"Just her father, which you should know by now! How 'bout anything on her blog?"

"Daemon? Dude, I'm checking the mall, then the casinos..."
"Gosh!!! You are such an ass!"
"You're hopeless, why on earth would she go there!"
"Okay, that's another BAD impression to add to your already long list." she scolded him. "She's never coming back that way!!!!"

He found her there, but the emotions etched on her face made her look....different. It reminded him of Dawson, if he had a grave that's where he would be....
He didn't want to interrupt her, so stood there and watched.

Daemon lay on his back, his shirt glued to his chest in the sweltering summer heat.
