Sometimes the urge for a quick visual fix is irresistible...'The Hunger' with Catherine Deneuve, David Bowie, and Susan Sarandon; 'Vlad The Impaler' staring gary Oldman and Winona Ryder; and 'Interview With The Vampire' with Kirsten Dunst, Brad Pitt, and Tom Cruise.

Yeah I dig a quick visual fix myself. Hippest movies. The Lost Boys,Blade,Just Around Sundown, From Dusk Till Dawn(Quinten Tarantino rocks). I am more of a Clooney type guy than a Brad Pitt fan. TV Buffy was the best and created a lot of interest in things Vampire, Moonlight could have been if not for the writers strike.
Thirty Days of Night looked good. But it looked all slash and gore. Plus I am of the day walker persuasion. I am going to see Twilight just for the hell. Bram Stokers Dracula was good. In the end of the book, Dracula is killed by the Texan, Quincys Bowie Knife right at dusk. He is using a Winchester rifle. A Texan with a bowie knife and a Winchester. Seems out of place in Transylvania. Quincey is unfortunately killed by wounds he got fighting with the gypsies who are taking Draculas casket back to the castle. Lets see here. Hm there is an old PBS Dracula with the famous French actor Louis Jordan. True to the book in every detail. Thats PBS for yah.
A new vampire film from Sweden is playing in art theaters this week, 'Let The Right One In'. It's a story of first love, the boy, Oskar, and the girl (she is the vampire this time) Eli, are just 12 years old.
Child vampires now theres an odd take for yah. Interesting but then ther's those rules that get in the way. According to standard mythos you remain the age you were turned for the rest of your existance. Being 12 for hundreds of years would kinda limit you to say the least. I love art films. If it comes to Tulsa maybe I will see it.
The Hunger is truly a wonderful visual movie!Brian wrote: "Sometimes the urge for a quick visual fix is irresistible...'The Hunger' with Catherine Deneuve, David Bowie, and Susan Sarandon; 'Vlad The Impaler' staring gary Oldman and Winona Ryder; and 'Inter..."
I love Catherine Deneuve and Bowie in that movie. I belive Bowie wears and Egyptian Ahnk the cross topped by a cicle smybol representing eternal life. It is a very gentile vampire movie. I believe they use some bladed edge in the Ank to slit the victims wrist which is where they drink from. Really an interesting film. Vlad the Imapaler sounds good but I have not seen that one. Life Force is good although its vampires drain you of your life force turning you into dust and crumbly bones. It's a space sci fi Vampire flick.
Man I just read the site for True Blood the HBO vampire series. Sookie Stackhouse rocks. I just read a synopsis of each episode. Jap scientist developes fake human blood for vampires to drink. Vampires can get a virus called Hep D. Comparable to todays Hepatitis C. Man this show is up to date and really killer. I am going to have to get HBO. Or DVDs of that show.
Hey some help someone. Charlaine Harris vampire books True Blood that are the basis of HBOs True Blood with Sookie Stackhouse. Are they written under another title or pen name. At our library I cant find any books by Charlaine Harris or the title True Blood. SOS Vampire Fiends!
That's right the first book I found said Dead Until Dark Southern Vampire Mysterys. I couldn't find them at first because I typed in Charlene instead of Charlaine Harris,LOL. When I couldn't find them I panicked because they are really good and about young people. But not teenagers. You Suck and Blood Sucking Fiends are funy vampire stories. About 26 year old Jody her 19 year old B.F. and a 16 year old Goth girl Abby Normal.
