Anyone else a fanatic for the fever series??? Sooooo, good and lots to talk about. Will be fun to discuss especially since Rachel is only beginning to catch the first part of the illness!

message 2: by Rachel (new) - added it

Rachel (rachelwallace) MUST....stop...searching for spoilers. lol

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

RACHEL!!!! Don't lol, okay talk to me, I will try to soothe your obsessions!

message 4: by Katya (new) - added it

Katya We can chat it up to the point you are at....I remember thinking all kinds of things in each book. The message boards at KMM.com are separated by book. I got everyone at work to read this series and one lady said, "all that matters is Barrons to me." LOL she is a grandmother who has the hots for JZB!

Katya At least you don't have to wait like I did a year to read the next book. KMM loves to leave ya hanging.

I took the day off that the book came out and then it did not download to my nook until the next day! I was evil...I had to keep away from everyone. It was a Tuesday so I couldn't stay up all night!

I am so excited that there is going to be three spin-offs and two more fever books. Yeahy for us!

PS...When I got Shadowfever I cheated and looked at the end and it did ruin it a bit for me. Don't do that...I was stupid. It is so much better if you let it roll out naturally.

Rachel (rachelwallace) haha! I am just about half way through faefever! Mac borrowed the viper and is going to the Abby and she is talking to V'lane about helping her. Hmmm I have so many questions. I feel so bad for Mac, she seems so trapped, but I am glad she's starting to keep some secrets to herself and spreading out her resources. I REALLY want her to go on a date or something 'normal', or have someone she can trust and confide in. I would be going nuts and would not handle it as well as she has. Barrons (love him) but he is so evasive. I wish they could trust each other :( Holy crap I LOVED the cave scene. KMM is such a brilliant auther and paint such a vivid picture. I could just picture Mac bouncing around punching the crap out of Barrons...HA. She was so fiesty, loved it. I better stop, i think i am rambling.

message 7: by Rachel (new) - added it

Rachel (rachelwallace) poo, sorry for the spelling errors

message 8: by Katya (new) - added it

Katya I loved KMM's writing style...she gives you all these clues and I remember she wrote that at the end of Dreamfever she has given us everything we needed to solve it all....Heck, If I could figure it out. My guesses were all wrong.

I think it is the end of Faefever where things really get wractched up (spell?) and go into overdrive. I felt that the first half and the second half of the story were two sides of a coin but still different. There is alot going on in Faefever that will matter later on. pay attention to the little stuff.

I think it is all about Mac trusting herself and trusting the actions of others. Vlane is not any more trustworthy. He is so wrapped up in himself and is world. But what is he really about? Wow I could be writing about Barrons too!

message 9: by Rachel (new) - added it

Rachel (rachelwallace) Katya, omg really!? spinoffs and more books! LOL, I definately won't look at the end, I just keep telling myself "don't look for spoilers, just read faster". I mostly look to see if Mac has a love interest in any of the books. Right now, Barrons isn't really a love interest is he? Sometimes she catches herself thinking how sexy he is, and I think he thinks shes cute too. I guess it seems like he gets jealous of V'lane right? Girl needs some action.

These books are by far on my #1 series list. The journey was the best part of these books. Don't rush it, trust me all your patience will 1000% pay off! This book series is so good you need to savor every minute because once its over you will be in an emotional funk thinking that you wont encounter a book this good again. PLEASE be patient, it gets better and better and never lets you down. It breaks your heart, lifts you up, destroys you and then gives you faith. It is everything you could ask for in a great paranormal romance.

Rachel (rachelwallace) AHHH! clues...I need to talk about this more, but my hubby is getting jealous and wants me to watch the voice with him.

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

LOL! Spend time with your husband, compromise and tell him you want to be able to sneak goodreads peeks during commercials :P

Rachel (rachelwallace) Do we find out what Barrons is?
Do we ever get to meet ICYCGM he sounds cool.
Why does Barrons get jealous if he thinks of Mac as just a little girl?
You don't need to answer these are just some of the things on my mind. How about when Mac says something like " don't let me die here, bring me to the sunshine". I was a blubbering mess.

To answer your questions:
1.Sort of/Yes
2.Yes
3. Well...Barrons is complicated...thats all I can say. But you will get an answer to this..
about the sunshine in the cave, I loved that part, there is a few more unbelievable hearth wrenching moments that will turn your world inside out. The ends of Books 3 and 4 had be crying my eyes out both times...

Katya The first book can be hard for some to get into....it was for me the first ten or so chapters....but you have to push.

Barrons is one of two male heroes/anti-heroes and the author describes him as a semi-sociopath. He is moody, annoying and commanding. You never get comfortable with him and that is how he likes it. He spends the entire series making Mac grow up, mature and trust actions over words. I like this quote, it kinda summs it up for me:

“Its our actions that define us. What we choose. What we resist. What we're willing to die for.”

“There are two kinds of people in the world Ms. Lane: those who survive no matter the cost and those who are walking victims.”

“Everywhere I looked, I could see only shades of gray. Black and white were nothing more than lofty ideals in our minds, the standards by which we tried to judge things and map out our place in the world in relevance to them. Good and evil, in their purest form, were as intangible and forever beyond our ability to hold in our hand as any Fae illusion. We could only aim at them, aspire to them, and hope not to get so lost in the shadows that we could no longer see the light.”

"Dying is overrated. Human sentimentality has twisted it into the ultimate act of love. Biggest load of bullshit in the world. Dying for someone isn't the hard thing. The man that dies escapes. Plain and simple. Game over. End of pain. Alina was the lucky one. Try living for someone. Through it all - good, bad, thick, thin, joy, suffering. That's the hard thing.”

Kelly Bostic (Bookworm4388) | 155 comments like the quote Katya. I just finished chapter 2 and I am already so into the book. I laughed my butt off when Mac was getting hit by that old lady dressed in black for some unexplainable reason. That is an intresting way to be welcomed to Ireland Im sure, lol.

Becky (beckyh8324) how many are there all together?

message 40: by Kelly (new) - added it

Kelly Bostic (Bookworm4388) | 155 comments 5 shadowfever is the last book she wrote in the series and that was in 2010.

I looked it up on this site that we love to use at the library I work at. The site is called fantasticfiction.com, you can look up authors or books. It will give you all the books that author has written, when their next books should be coming out, and if they have a series it will give you all the books that are in that series in order.

message 41: by Rachel (new) - added it

Rachel (rachelwallace) Ok, I am about 11 chapters into dreamfever...not sure what to think. Sigh, this series is a trip. Poor Mac
